Thread: BSNL EVDO problem - Is it possible to share internet connection using BSNL EVDO...

gUYS I really need an Urgent Help from all the Experts here

Today i tested BSNL EVDO in my house..( I told a BSNL guy to give me a demo) ..

i download a stuff using FTP and the speed i got was varying from 1 KBpS to 600KBps....and it was not constant...

but in torrents the speed was great...it consistently showed speed more that my present 750 UL ...

now here the problem arises...

My parents want a wifi in my house which m using presently on my WAG300r2u Router....with 750 UL ...
So when i surf net..on my lappy they can also work at the same time on other pc witout waiting for me to finish off my work....so WIFI here is a must...

But when the BSNL Guy told me ad my father that BSNL EVDO wont have wifi..and only one person can surf at ta time...and u cant share Internet...

My father said he requires wifi..and saying no to BSNL EVDO...

so what to do guys... is it possible to share internet connection using BSNL EVDO card....and i can only pay for 1 that is either 750 UL or BSNL EVDO....so tell me ...experts...heres is a real test for u...

It is possible to share internet connection. You can use connectify with a wifi card. There is also method to share wifi using router. As of now we do not have any related threads on this topic. Try a Google search.

Ya i know about Connectify...but the problem is my Laptop has Windows 7...but other PC has Windows XP...(AMD celeron processor)

so i guess for connectify both computers should have Windows 7 right?

No. Only the hub PC should be on Windows 7. The other PC/ Laptop can be XP.

I have many questions about EVDO so please if u dont mind pleas ans themm...

1)Will this thing(the link which i gave) work? because i have to make my father beilve that it will work...without any issue..so will it??? did any one try here?


2) @meetdilip.... .u using BSNL 750 UL right...me too using the same..why dont u switch to BSNL EVDO...?

3) Actually the reason i am shifting to BSNL EVDO is because i am a blogger and i m thinking of going out somewhere..and i cant afford to miss one day...so m buying BSNL EVDO...
but today i asked the BSNL guy about the coverage...and its quite less..
its not like reliance netconnect..which also has coverage in villages...

So what u think when will BSNL EVDO have a full coverage...like say i go anywhere and i m able to plug and surf...? any idea...?

I too tried to get an EvDO connection. But in my place it is only 144 Kbps. Hence not an option.

BSNL has pretty good coverage. Please mention your location so that others from your area can help you.

I am from Goa, Panaji... and the tower is 400 Meters from my house...and the speed is ok ...if i were to say then its 100 times better than BSNL UL 750...

so anyone from Goa here? can help me out

The same questions which i asked a few days ago, singhmanish is asking now..In fact there are more questions about EVDO than answers available...I am also in the same confused frame of mind about EVDO. Its upcoming and not yet a proven one like Home 500. so I don't want to take part in the experiment but rather play the waiting game now.

yeah man u are right...but i think BSNL 500 is better that BSNL EVDO...

i cant shift to 500 because of some blogging problems since i have to surf a lot....so EVDO is best for me...

so lets see if i want to buy EVDO...i have to buy it before 31st as the promotional offer is goin on...

Don't worry. Just get yourselves a wifi card.

Is it possible to share the internet on one PC using a normal wifi modem from BSNL or similar ? Suppose we insert an EVDO card in PC. Can this connection be shared using a normal wifi modem connected to this PC ?

What is the hardware required to share internet using connectify ? Will a wifi card be enough ?

I can access 4 different WIFI networks
( which cannot connect to each other )
( Of course I need to know the security Code !), with
only WLAN card ( either built in or inserted )in my laptop.
No need to switch on my modem/wifi router.

3. What you suggest is having two LAN ethernet cards
in Desktop and connect another system etc.

4. What you suggest is WIFI repeater mode. I feel not possible.
Even Two normal wifi routers cannot do this function.
Without a LAN cable connection.
( except higher priced models like RUCKUS/Dlink etc ) wifi repeater etc.

5.Also the frequency of operation will be different for EVDO and WIFI / 3G mode.

HI to all. I am having BSNL EvDo card and its having a problem of disconnection in 10 - 15 min. also the speed is very slow around 25 kpbs (download). pls help

If you are using a laptop Change Location
preferably first floor room and try.
Or use an extended USB to USB cable 3 feet or 6 feet

and position the unit near a window
( Free space access )

When I try to connect through EVDo,a message comes as "failed to connect".How can I overcome this problem?

My modem is MMX 300C HSIA Rev.A.I got the connection one month back from BSNL.Till last week it worked well.But the problem arises few days back.When I try to connect in auto mode,the message "failed to connect" is displayed.
