    Default MBlaze data card

Before MODS close\move it I want to ensure them that this thread is supposed to be here.

So back on topic, I am going to switch to BSNL EVDO. I am getting a MBlaze modem for 1000 INR but it is Mumbai circle locked. Can I use it in Gurgaon\Haryana with BSNL EVDO connection? Would I have to unlock it using CDMA workshop? I know that MBlaze can be used with BSNL but this circle problem is bugging me.

MBlaze does not support RUIM (EVDO SIM). The number is programmed into the device. BSNL EVDO uses RUIM.

I have heard that it can be used with BSNL EVDO. I also heard that MBLaze card ZTE AC2766 has got a RUIM slot. Lastly it was written on BSNL site that they will take 350 INR if we take device of our own and in that case they will reprogram it. Is there any hope left? Or would I have to buy BSNL EVDO data card for 2500 INR(quite costly) from them?

I am not sure about ur Mblaze modem, but if it is the premium modem of MTS, it certainly has a RUIM slot. But to use BSNL EVDO RUIM on it, you have to unlock it and delete all settings for MTS and also activate the RUIM slot.

I did nt get any solution to unlock MTS Mblaze modems.

The card can be unlocked using CDMA workshop but I am no longer interested in EVDO. BSNL people themselves have told me that I can't get good speed on EVDO in my region so I am using 3g now.

Well I unlocked the RUIM slot of MTS device, as the modem can read from the RUIM of Reliance/tata/mts.

but with Reliance/tata ruim put on the modem, it can not able to register into the rcom/tata cdma netwrk, even on 1x mode!

but same thing happened with mts ruim! though it is just 1x, and connection to internet was not established, no page cant be opened, and i was charged for local call !

yeah its true, as GSM players coming up with 3G soon, EVDO will be a dead,
BSNL has no concrete plan for EVDO/WIMAX/BWA!!
