If OS is windows 7 and you have a wlan card in laptop
    try this application.
Connectify - Turn your Windows 7 laptop into a Wi-Fi Hotspot

In your laptop Wireless Network connections?
Do you find any other wifi network " secured or unsecured ?

I used connectify.. but i am able to find only adhoc settings in connecify.. the wireless keeps flashing red and then changes back to lan..

and yes i do have a few other wifi connections.. but only the ones that i have used at a relatives or friends place..

currently though i dont have anyother network there.. except the one which connectify gives.. and bsnl evdo is the dailup/vpn area..

    1.
In the system say Laptop, you must have an Internet connection.Landline/EVDO/usbdatacard/wimax etc )
    2.
Then the Wireless ethernet card settings are made
( and checked with a normal wifi router , if possible )
    3.
Then with "Connectify 'In same laptop you have created
an access point for OTHER systems.( having WIFI access )
( example : my ipod touch through wifi.)
    4.
You have to create a wifi network in your laptop.
Control Panel/Network and Internet/ Network and sharing center
Setup a new connection or wireless Network.

    5.
    Default Gateway . . . . . . . . . : 0.0.0.0
    Ethernet adapter Local Area Connection:
This is also not showing any data .
    Try again with connection active.

    I expect something like this.
