Actually i'm thinking of migrating frm BSNL UL750 to BSNL EVDO conn...Is it worth...i've heard mny complaints bout EVDO,but silll i wud lyk to ask u guyzzz dat is it better than UL750...??
I do a lot of Torrenting ,gaming basically...
does EVDO give gud speeds....???
wat r dee requiremnts to get a gud "DOWNLOAD SPEED"...
i mean download speed not b/w..!!!
n wat is d peak "DOWNLOAD SPEED" in EVDO....!!

Promised speed is 2.4 Mbps, but it depends on your tower. Not all towers give 2.4 Mbps. If your tower does not support this, you will get only 144 Kbps speed.

EvDO had shared IP for sometime. Not sure now they give independent IP for each user. Read somewhere it is not the case now. EvDO at the moment is quite economical as it gives 2.4 Mbps unlimited at Rs. 750 per month.

But BSNL may start phasing out EvDO as now they are focusing on 3G for wireless service.

Check with them whether they give a shared IP or not. If shared, you will find problems in downloading from sites like Rapidshare and possibly in gaming. Torrents should be fine (still check to confirm).

Try gaming while having demo. Also check latency (normally high in wireless connections) and ping. Go to pingtest.net, perform a test and check.

i think this might help others also, as the ul750 users will come to know whether their plan is useful or not...!!!??

no last posts, dont be so pessimisstic about everything..

evdo is better, modem came down to 1499/- but that doesnt mean bsnl is providing the best services everywhere..

but if you dont have problems in investing money in it now, you should buy it, because after all going good against line, anyways..
