Default Help me choose BSNL EVDO or netconnect or mblazer

Hey guys help me choose b/w evdo or reliance netconnect or mblazer.. I currently live in Sathyamangalam,Erode district in TamilNadu. So i have no clue what a data card is. back home i ve bsnl broadband never knew about usb modems etc.. After reading a lot about all these three, netconnect and mblazer depends on the place..whereas evdo is good i guess(correct me if im wrong). My biggest doubt is will it perform well in my place sathy?. Please share ur reviews. I need unlimited plan.. is it worth?.. also recommend me a good usb modem which good unlock bsnl, vodafone, airtel sims in it.

    Thanks and regards,
    Vishnu

I bought a new Teracom EVDO 3.1 Mbps card from BSNL on Nov 02, 2011 and speed was very crap in daytime (10-12KBps) , worst than 2G (which gives me 15-20 KBps 24hrs a day) in my area (Raipur, CG). Speed at night, after 11pm goes around 30-70 KBps but that too doesnt happen every night.

May be it has to do with area, city etc because my cousin at different city (Bhilai) gets 70-100 KBps throughout the day.

Yesterday, after using it for 25 days, I applied for disconnection.

So don't do the same mistake like I did, first get a speed demo (or borrow friend's EVDO) at your place before rushing to buy it.

My opinion is you should buy a 3G unlock device. Before choosing a device check few things....
    1.Minimum 7.2 Mbps download support
2.sssd support so that you can check your GPRS balance in the computer.you don't need to put your SIM in your mobile to check the data balance.

You can chose Hweai unlock data card.
    7.2 Mbps download support= Rs1000-1800
    21 Mbps download support= Rs 1800-3000

This are the range in different online stores for different models. You can also check local retailer for better deal.Or even you can buy the device which is supplied by the 3G service provider. You may get some free data with that device then you can unlock that device.

Right now there is no unlimited 3G Plan by any service provider.
The only trick which is working now is 3G speed in 2G plan with BSNL.

You can check which company's 3G service is available in your area by manual network search.

So before buying a device or choseing a 3G plan do some more research by searching this forum.

you are talking about two different technologies here.

    EVDO = CDMA 3G version
provider - BSNL, MTS, RELIANCE, TATA INDICOM.
only MTS give OMH SIM that works on any modem. BSNL SIM works on select modems. REL and TATA gives locked modem without SIM
works on 800 mhz band - lower peak speed, higher average speed, higher speed indoors

    HSDPA/WCDMA = GSM 3G
provider - BSNL GSM, REL GSM, TATA DOCOMO, AIRTEL, VODAPHONE, IDEA
SIM would work on any modem. but most pvt co. artificially locks modem.
works on 2100 mhz band - higher peak speed, lower average speed, lower speed indoors

so first check in your location which one of the above is giving service and the get demo to find out which one suits your requirement.
