I wanted to take EVDO from a long time. And i did lot's and lot's of research online and this forum help me to learn a lot of things about the connection too. Finally I've decided to go to BSNL CSC @Hyderabad(Tirumalagiri,Sec'bad) and my experience goes as follows ..
First time i visited bsnl csc and asked for evdo.Concerned BSNL Employe started explaining me about the postpaid plan. When i asked for prepaid they said they never gave out any prepaid connections till date even though the option was available from long time.he also said i would be their first prepaid evdo customer if i wish to take it and so he are not sure about the procedure and recharges.
He started the process by taking an CDMA ruim and activated with 750UL plan in the pc in some site called "Sanchar soft" and the sim was activated but i got balance as rs -351(negative) without any validity.I asked him why they said it may be activation charges and its mandatory so i have to recharge with 350 first to get out of negative balance the i will get validity. When i said no such thing is reported by my friends from other states(as friends got rs399 balace and they had to recharge with remaining balance of rs350 to make total of 750rs balace which gets deduced automatically and gives unlimited for 30day) he replied that it would change from state to state.I asked him to inquire his higher official about this.He called him and asked about it.The higher official said that 399balance would come for a general EVDO plan(Rs.0.05/100KB) and no activation charges for that.
SO then I took a new Sim and got it activated with General plan in CSC itself. As he said i got 399rs balance with initial 50days validity and i got successfully connected to internet and balance was reducing. Then i did a STV 830 recharge on my own(as an experiment) and then Unlimited plan for 30days got activated.
When i showed this thing to the bsnl executive he said "So this is how we activate a Prepaid EVDO !"
I posted this because I thought this info would be helpful for any one who is opting BSNL prepiad EVDO and the CSC fellows dont have enough knowledge about it.
I'am Enjoying my EVDO connection for now)
I have a few doubts :
1. How much validity does 110 rs recharge give ??? (is it 3 months as bsnl people said or 6months as reported by many other members ??)
2. How much validity does 220rs recharge give ?? (is it 6 months as bsnl people said or 12months as reported by many other members ??)
