Talking Bsnl evdo data card review!!

    -------------------BSNL EVDO SERVICE----------------

EVDO Stands For EVolution Data Optimization. It is a Wireless Brodband service by BSNL which promises speeds upto 3.1 mbps. I bought it a few months back. The Modem Costed me 2500 bucks But getting the connection was the most painful task. BSNL people in my Area had no idea what this EVDO thing was. But by continuous efforts I was able to get the connection in a month. The installation of the modem was very easy and hassle free. Right from the first day itself I had become a fan of this EVDO service. The Browsing Experience is Even better than BSNL Brodband. And the most important part it gives around 2 Mbps Speed in IDM while Downloading. Having an unlimited plan for 750 bucks with no FUP(True Unlimited Plan) makes you qualm free while downloading any stuff. It has a Static Ip Address which makes it easier for Downloading Stuffs from Rapidshare like websites since when you reconnect you have a new IP and you can download another file again without waiting for half an hour.. Torrent Downloading is also as Awesome as it it is in IDM. It also gives very high speeds of 2 Mbps!!. The only con i feel is in the modem software. It takes a long time to Initialize the device. Otherwise this is an awesome service from BSNL. Keep it up BSNL.

You can also refer to my Video for more knowledge about downloading speeds:-

Here is the Picture of the modem:- It's a Pritvi Ue100 Modem.

Here is A picture Of its Dialer.

    Here is A speedtest.net result:-

It's Manual Says that it supports Linux too. But i haven't been able to configure it in Linux till now.

So if you will ask me i will very strongly recommend going for this Service.

To Know More You can Visit BSNL website:-

Does IP change every time you restart on a static IP. Isn't it dynamic IP which changes IP every time we restart?

The upload is barely enough for someone like me. I can't do without at least 512 Kbps/64 KBps. But I might consider shifting if I'm going to get 2 Mbps (heck, even if its 1 Mbps, I won't mind) with no FUP. Currently, I'm all bugged up by the 1 Mbps upto 6 GB, 512kbps from there on.

What is the highest amount of data you have downloaded in a month so far?

@ Ravikiran... Sorry It has a Dynamic Ip instead of Static IP.

@smartflight...I get around 256 kbps upload speed...
Also i download around 30-35 GB in a month...

Yes you can. You need to get the RUIM from BSNL which will cost you Rs 20 and for activation Rs 350.

No you cannot use these modems with EVDO. These are GSM/3G modems which are incompatible with CDMA...

New EVDO modem from BSNL costs around 1100 bucks...

    hi

i am interested in bsnl evdo prepaid connection.

IF i take a plan for unlimited (750+tax), i heard that on the next month that balance will automatically be deducted form my account(if i have Rs10as balance, next month i will become -740).

IF i want to chance to 2.5GB plan. what should i do since next month 750 will be deducted an UL plan will get automatically activated.

Can i use it for 1 month and not use fro 3 months (assuming i have validity fro 1 year) or then balance will keep on going into negative!!!!! even if did not use

    pls help

I am highly confused. BSNL people are not able to help.

How can i use for 1 month and if i do not want to use for 2 to months what should i do???

    VERY URGENT
    THANKS

Sarvesh Bhai, i just in bought a cdma evdo prithvi data card, even though the sim card has not yet been activated, i plugged in the card and found that i am getting 3 signal bars (evdo mode) in my area, so whether those 3 bars would be able to give good speed in evdo mode or not??
Furthermore As i can see we both are from same circle (bihar), so i want to know that after the activation of the cdma sim how can i recharge it?? I mean whether i can recharge it online or will i need to get it recharged via any retailer??
plz help me regarding the same
