Can any one tell me the exact procedure to gey this working with BSNL EVDO.

What if i want to shift to reliance ?

i tested both in my area and game be similar speeds (~1.56 MBps)

Instead of going for Micromax 300C, go for Mircromax 310C. As per the link provided by Mr. Sarvesh 300C costs Rs. 1982. It is a good modem but has a major drawback posted by an user. It is bit more wide than needed. So if you have 2 usb slots side by side and if you put M 300C in one, the other slot remains unusable as Micromax 300C partially blocks the adjacent slot. Decide for yourself from the following pictures. The FAT one is the 300C and the SLIMMER one is the 310C.

I myself got the MICROMAX 310C from flipkart and it cost me Rs 2000 (Rs 18 more than 300C). I will post a review of the modem shortly.

310C is no different from 300C in specifications, its just a cosmetically upgraded version of the 300C.

For prepaid they do not give it on rental basis, I already took a prepaid sim from them. Need a modem only for couple of weeks till the time my modem from US comes in. Post that i would sell it off, so looking for a used or second hand deal.

Sumit, i already said buying a modem from BSNL is not an option, as i have already ordered one from US which is coming down next week. Now i just need the modem to read data of the sim card and get EVDO configuration details and settings for Bangalore.Just for this i would not want to buy a modem. Ifany EVDO users from Bangalore can help, please drop me a message.
    Thanks

I was planning to buy 310C, but heard some reviews in flipkart that it gets too hot after 10-15mins, is it so ??
Is 300c better then it ??

The level of heat depends on amount of usage, signal reception. these data cards are designed to work harder when they are in low coverage areas, hence more heat
