Dude i'm using WLL internet from june2007. it is unlimited.. and i'm gettin speed of min 15kbps to 22kbps...
The speed is not constant, and it depends on the signal strength in ur area. use an external antenna to get full signal strength.

    Default Wll

I applied for a BB Connection with Home 500c plan.
My locality is such that it is not feasible to provide conn. so after 2 months i got a letter from MTNL that I can opt for WLL.
I went to the exchange n confirmed it. it may be installed within a week.
    conn speed :144kbps.
    250 rs unlimited.

But now I doubt is there any price for Connect Card!? rs:4000?
    hmm..let me check!!

im using bsnl wll Rs 250 unlimited plan and it says its 144kbps..
im getting very low download speed. most of the time its under 10 KBps make it under 8 or 7 KBps... ( these days its too slow). is this because of low signal strength, or is this the speed u ll get using this plan?
if its becoz of signal strength, is ther anything i can do to increase the signal????
    pls help me.....

ideally you should be getting 18 KBps but seems that you are getting very less
WLL is very unpredictable as it is wireless and mostly depends on the signal strength, if the signal is weak then you will get less speed, it also depends on the number of ppl using it at the same time

Try to keep the tarang phone near the window or at a higher location and check if the speed imporves

thnx 4 the reply dude.... i ll try tht. but is ther any device or gadget in market by which i can increase the signal strength?

and how about the ip address? i think they are giving us shared ip address.
when ever i try to download any file from rapidshare, i get this message.....

"Your IP address ******* is already downloading a file. Please wait until the download is completed"

are they supposed to giv us shared ip address? or should i complain?

    ......thanks.....

the IP address you mentioned are used by institutions etc & it's a static IP shared among many users so obviously you will see such messages.i used to get these messages when i was in my institute doing my B.Tech.there is nothing you can do about this.

Yes watching a video on youtube amounts to downloading and will increase usage of bandwidth by a lot.

I dont know what the wll based plans are.. didint you get to pick and choose your plan when you signed up?
