    (7) System will ask for drivers
    (8) Install from location above.

The bsnl wll internet is good option for the unlimited users(provided good signal strength area)

for the data card offerd speed 144Kbps ,you may be getting 80-100 in good signal area (normally within 3-4 kms radial from the tower)
for the wll phone users the same speed can be acheived up to 6-7 with a good signal strenth (with external patchcord antenna bsnl will provide on request free of cost)

EVDO is another wll technology data card unlimitted usage speed 2mbps tariff around 600+ south india free roaming (evdo coverage is provided to selected cities only ,say all the dist head quarters)

Hmm Wll is the short of wireless local loop .its a fixed phone without line its wireless and working on CDMA technolgy getting signal from towers.and you can acees internet also.BSNL wll offers a cheap unlimted plan of rs 250 per month and have a download speed of 10-20kbps if you have good signal strength.

Default Query on low(BSNL WLL)speeds wit regards to a Change of Address

    Heya all,

I got a query regarding Change of Address (CoA).

I recently shifted to my new flat fr a rented house wich r in two different places of the city. I ve been usin BSNL WLL since Nov'09 and is a frequent user of BitTorrent for downloadin movies, music, games, softwares etc.I ve been gettin a optimum download speed of arnd 15-17 kb/s wen i was stayin@my old place.

After I shifted to my new place, the download speed has been pathetic. It has been rangin fr 1 kb to 5 kb and sometimes goes upto 10-12 kb, but doesnt stay for long time and falls down to 5 kb soon.

Now I do understand dat BSNL WLL connection can b used anywhere within city limits (as mentioned in the FAQ at the BSNL website).

Does the low download speeds got anything to do wit the TELEPHONE EXCHANGE juz cuz my BSNL WLL telephone no: belongs to the TELEPHONE EXCHANGE at the old place?

The ting is there is some delay in gettin my address proof docs at the new place, so ll b applyin as soon as I get it ready. I m not too happy wit the download speeds at the moment.

Hope someone could help me out wit my query. ll really appreciate it.
    Cheers!

    I face the same dilemma.
Since BSNL WLL is wireless, it relies upon the performance of the particular tower you're connected too. In your case, It looks as if you've moved to a highly busy or low capacity tower than your earlier one.

Don't know why, But since a month i've getting very poor speeds. maybe they are upgrading to 3G.

It will work under the signal programmed in it .The BSNL guys will program it before providing connection that from which towers it can recive signals etc .But signal problems will arise when there is the signal coming fro 2 SSA's

    Hmmm...
The torrent speeds on my WLL connection have currently improved ...
I was gettin a snail's pace speed rangin fr say, 2-9 kb/s b4 Sun ( it used to stay as low as 0.5 kb/s ), but dunno wat happd, the speed is now sumwhere between 10 & 27 kb/s since Mon mornin...Its goes up & down...but much better now....

The speeds r flunctuatin between 10-20 kb/s, wich a relief.... It cums down to say bout 4 kb/s, but doesnt stay too long, accelerates to > 10kb/s instantly... It peaks to bout 32 kb/s....must b due to the latest updates of BitTorrent.
Dunno wen it would go down again.... Hop it doesnt for the time-bein....

Btw, I got the external antenna fr the exchange a wk ago as per Krishna6233 's suggestion.....didnt improve the situation....

ll b shiftin2 a wired connection soon. cant b patient wit WLL for long.

    Cheers!

Installation files means every foldera nd files, or i386 folder only???
1.firstly you connect your phone to your computer with usb cable
2.then u should wait for two minutes and then load the driver cd(it is available in bsnl office)
3.you should go to devices and printers in control panel.
4.u should select qualcom cdma tegnologies and right click and select update drivers.
    5. u should select to do it manually and select the drive in which cd is loaded.
6.it will automatically update the drivers.
7.u should then right click on qualcom cdma tegnologies and select dial up networking
    8. u should enter user name as your phone no. with std code and password also the same
    9. in the dial no in bottom enter#777
    10. click on the dial button and enjoy the internet
    1. you cannot use your phone for calling while using internet

    Smile Driver not available

I came to know that the ctp800 driver only supports the 32-bit OS. It is not available for x64 OS.
Better you do not re-install with the 32 bit OS, but you can have a new device from BSNL, which has perfect support for 64 bit and Linux as well. Enjoy
