Please note that I don't travel a lot so portability is not my priority..

But will it detect the MMX310C; as I tested it with LAVA W150 but it didn't even detect the card, I went to the customer care but they also failed to do anythig.

buy Asus N13-B1 version. this supports downloading even your pc is shut down and MMX 310C is fully working with this router. a friend of mine use this router so i can confirm it. Asus has a better presence and features than tp-link routers .

Thanks for the info but its not a router, I need a router which support MMX310C on its own so that I won't need to turn my laptop on and still be able to use the net on my phone or PSP or my TV

But I think it would be better if you can get me the product link to confirm whether I am looking at the same thing you are talking about.

of course it is a router. it fully supports MMX310C evdo modem. i am using this router. from where have you seen that it is not a router?? are you crazy or what? i am using it and it is a very popular router nowadays. better than tp-link, and all those local name routers. Asus has a world renowed goodwill of its own. they create some serious stuff. this router supports usb dongles with evdo also. just connect a evdo or usb dongle and start downloading by attaching a usb external hard disk in the usb slot. u need to have a usb extension cord cause it has a single usb hub. if you are using broadband then no problem. otherwise you don't need to turn on the computer to download. just sleep at night and keep the router on without your pc and it will dowload all your torrents or files from the internet.

    24/7 Non-Stop BT Download:

HTTP, FTP, BT (BitTorrent) download protocols can be download automatically from the internet. You can keep downloading even when PC is off.

that is the feature of Asus N13 B1 which i like the most.

Probably you did not read my complete post. Please provide the link to the product page, if possible, as there are so many N13 models and specifically N13-B1 takes me to some other page.

And what i understand from B1 is that its just a firmware update.

B1 is not a firmware update. it is a different model. There are two models of this router. one is Asus RT N13U and other is RT N13U B1. The RT N13U doesnt support usb dongles but the RT N13U B1 version supports USB dongles along with other great functions and stability. also the latter one supports DD-WRT firmware so flash it with DD-WRT firmware if you can.

    pros :
    ralink rt3050 chipset
    easy to debug
can install openwrt and debian GNU linux
wifi is flawless, works in guest mode also with vlan
installing openwrt and debian was difficult
ram is upgradeable 16 MiB to 32 MiB
flash is upgradeable (dont do this unless you know nuts and bolts of embedded)
place for additional flash chip 48 tsop which means upto 64 MiB tsop nor flash (dual flash chip, which is like oh lala la la le o)
    room for more hardware additions
detects almost all 3g dongle and works! cdma not checked.

    cons :
    battery is screwy and chopped
    no jtag
serial is unpopulated, hence firmware upgrade is a pain
    casing is horrible, too plasticky
external antenna is a pain to attach
only 2 firmware upgrade, tata docomo and mts, after firmware upgrade sim lock is removed, pain to do it w/o serial

conclusion : value for money, if you are a developer? double value for money.

process of writing a wiki for openwrt wiki first, then will send admin the final draft to admin.

p.s. YMMV with this product, i reserve my conclusion since its my opinion and not influenced/manipulated by others, including manufacturers.

    Default Update tested

    Update tested with TP-LINK MR3020 and MR3040.
Both working but you have to set the UserID, Passwd manually
