Default BSNL EVDO Locations in Guwahati

    Guys,

I need to get my parents an idiot proof internet Option.

EVDO seems to be the best choice.

Any ideas about tower locations in Guwahati?

My house is near AEC, Jalukbari - as in I have LOS with the college as well as NH37.

Let me if anyone has any knowledge on this - my research says a distance of 3-4 Kms is the max an EVDO tower covers.

    TIA

Guys, we are talking about govt employees here - they are more clueless than me - i did ask them prior to posting here.

Update - I bought the card (prithvi) - even in 1x mode - speed is tolerable - i can browse and check mails. The Tower's around 3 km from my place, but lots of hills around, so i am happy i atleast get a signal.

    Cheers.

Ayan, the EVDO tower nearest AEC is at Adabari - the hills ensure that EVDO works only at 153 kbps (1x mode). You can try Airtel || BSNL GSM 3G as better options - I have BSNL 3G as well as Airtel 3G here in Bangalore - both are good. I have used airtel 3G there (AEC). Photon doesn't work.

    For unlimited 3G, use <BSNL's 6GB UL (3G) , 256 kbps post 6GB plan>

For EVDO, u can try and take a demo from BSNL, but IMO, GSM would be a better option in and near AEC. The hostels have BSNL broadband connections though - atleast they did when I was there.

    Cheers
