I was looking to get BSNL EVDO for use in the above area.
Can anybody share performance experience in the said area.

You will have better luck asking people who live near by. I dont think you would get many responses here from the area you live in although we do get thousands of visitors every day.
Very few people seem to be using this. So not much help can be expected from general people.
You could try asking the local shopkeepers who do recharges and stuff may be or ask BSNL guys if you can get a demo at your place which is highly unlikely but is still worth a try.
True asking shop keepers is the best, but go to a local shop who you are familiar with as you do not want to be told false information.
Don't knowwhy but no shopkeeper seems to have interest in BSNL.
That may well be your answer to your query about BSNL EVDO. If you know someone else who uses BSNL EVDO try using it at your location.
With BSNL connections don't you have to go to the actual BSNL office to get it, I thought that it is something which can not be brought from normal shops?
Rajesh ji,
From shopkeepers we just need to find out what the signal strength is like and if one of them uses BSNL evdo and I bet most of them do. They will try to talk you into buying another company's connection from them. That is not what we want.
Find some one who lives near by and also uses bsnl evdo and borrow the dongle for half and hour and check performance at your place.
Seems like BSNL EVDO is a rare thing in these areas, otherwise borrowing and testing would have been the easiest and best.
I have used BSNL 3G and its signal strength is good enough and speed ranges from 1+ to 3+ mbps but i don't know if it is relevant for evaluating CDMA network performance.
CDMA signal strength cannot be assumed to be strong just because 3G signals are strong. How about paying a visit at the local BSNL office and having a word with them?
Did that. They don't commit anything.
In that case I would advise you to keep using whatever you are using. If you have decent Reliance or MTS coverage then they both have a Rs999 per month plan that gives you 40GB data which is a lot.
Actually i had earlier got demo by MTS(800 to 1200 kbps) and DoCoMo(around1 mbps) against touted 6.2 mbps.
DoCoMo and Reliance wireline plans are attractive but they are not interested or unable to fight with cablewallahs who are asking high prices for lower speeds. Airtel wireline is available but FUP policy give jitters.
Aircel speed is good but prices have been increased. Reliance GSM speed is 800 to 2800 kbps. Reliance CDMA speeds are not known.
If nextra broadband is avilable there you can try it. They provide a 999rs unlimited plan with 10mbps speed they also give a trial service... But i dbout if its quality is just as good as it is in our area (delhi).

Have you tried with local cable wala connections. Which is the last resort left and usually it works out to be the best.
Checked Nextra. Seems like available in Delhi and neighbourhood.
Cablewala asking Rs 2000 for 2 mbps.
There are vsrious cable wala's who provide internet connection at different rates like mine provide rs300 plan 2gb download for 512kbps but then its the quality that matters..
You can now only cross ur fingers and give try to BSNL like most of the other people do..
