    If you take out your usb data card it will say no network or no UIM. Why do you expect the connection to work with your data card taken out?

    Please try a different location in the house where you get better signals to see if that improves the speed. Normally this is a sign of network congestion if you are getting good speed only at night and not during the day.

    Have your connected your dongle to a WiFi router? If yes put a security password for the WiFi connection from the router settings.

    This is purely due to network congestion and nothing else. If you get good speed at night and only during day this slow down occurs then it has to be network congestion. I dont think anyone is using your user name a password, it is just BSNL quality of network that is all. You are not alone unfortunately. Please talk to people around you and see if others near by also experience the same problem with BSNL evdo.

    I use to have similar problem with MTS for a few days but it is resolved now. Have you thought about using a different connection for browsing purposes during the day and using evdo only for downloading during night? It would be a little more money but you would also have the comfort of having a back up connection.

    Have you tried using the connection in a different area in the house? Like Admin said if it is because of the large number of users during a particular time of the day try using at another time if you can.

    @pranjyoti,

    Your connection is not capped. The difference between your download and upload speed is due to network congestion nothing else. There is nothing BSNL would do to resolve this and you will just frustrate yourself by calling them again and again. Please check speeds during late night or early in the morning and see if it is any different and if you see a difference then take my word for it that it is due to too many users and nothing else.

    This is a problem nationwide with BSNL due to their unlimited plan. BSNL should either upgrade their network or put a data limit per day sort of thing may be.
