I used BSNL EVDO at Ibis hotel at Nashik and also at Ginger hotel in the last week of June and speed was not up to the mark. I was barely getting 256kbps sometimes even finding simple pages difficult to load.

These two hotels not within the main city so you might be in luck if you live in more densely populated areas but to tell you do need a live demo. Evdn after the demo I would expect speeds to go down in peak times.

    I hope this helps.

I also live in Nashik. I also want to buy CDMA sim card. But when I went to bsnl main office, they even dont know about CDMA sim. They offer me GSM sim. When I explain them in detail, they told me to go in landline section, CDMA is in landline department. When I go there, again the told go to mobile section. After this frustration I went to another office, here is also same story begins. Finally I reached at home without SIM.
Does anybody know where to buy CDMA RUIM please tell me. If you are in Nashik then its very helpful for me.

EVDO is not a sim card.. its a CDMA device dongle which comes without SIM.
First ask your local BSNL office that EVDO signals comes in your area or not..

as far as my knowledge it's not a sim card, its a device (dongle) which cost around Rs 1000 comes in prepaid & postpaid plan..
One more thing BSNL closing EVDO from 31st March on all Northern areas so first call CDMA customer support 18005321502 Or 1502 (from BSNL Number) for more information.

BSNL also provide RUIM. You can use RUIM card (sim card) to your CDMA compatible phone. All the tariff for CDMA mobile is available on BSNL website.
