It would be too early to say whether it would succeed. but it is meant for those who would not mind paying for more bandwidth charges. somehow i find there is a lot of proud or fashion in holding private facilities and the PSU based facilities are ridiculed by some sections of society.

It would slowly grow being an Indian PSU and if there is political will not to kill PSUs, BSNL and its many services would do well.

This is my belief and conviction. May be partly due to my earlier association with it.

Even I came to know about this through this forum. If I weren't reading this thread, I would have wondered what IPTV means. Some publicity won't harm.

You can find too many people in India who believe BSNL enough to subscribe to such a plan.

Believe it or not !!

IPTV will be a flop, cannot say about 3g version of it... but wired cousin will be sure shot flop.

Take for example British Telecom which overhauled its telephone network 21CN but still there is lots of problem coz of which IPTV fails..

Three things which will be give inhibits sales of IPTV:-

1.> Cost and awareness, classical example of Demand and Supply.

2.> Competition from DTH and CAS

3.> BSNL poor service.

I fear it will be like few technology hotpot which will melt away sooner than we realize.
But If Mr. Kuldeep Goyal, CMD BSNL, is deterrent to market IPTV else its going to fail

There are no additional charges for bandwidth for using IPTV Services.
You pay only for the broadcast channels and the valu-added services like Video on Demand, Games, Music, etc

yes. check out myway.in

If Bsnl can handal there phone connection without disconnection for any moment then they think about successfulness.

But salo se 1 broadband to chalta nahi hai thek se baar baar disconnethota hai,o sala iptv khak chalayenge

Yes I also think that BSNL should more concentrate about their BB service at first I always faced low SNR problem twice in each month.BSNL took almost 3-4 days to restore it.In such condition IPTV did not have any prospect in India. Also DTH and local cable is cheap than IPTV.

Talking The cause of poor service ip tv

It is true that Ip Tv service is not proper. As per my experience the main cause of poor service is to give this service on contract. As for as Rajasthan concerned that is on contract with The Aksh Optifibre Ltd.this company has many service engineers having art faculties instead of science. there are no cordination between bsnl and contractee. As u know this service is based on broadband connection which is under BSNL and IPTvservice is on contract .
I am very fedup but I think BSNL will improve this letteron.

I think IPTV (not just BSNL, any other service provider) is new and rather untested. I think we should wait a bit and watch. Although I quite agree that if your BSNL landline is gone, so is everything else

I have to pay 280 rs for one good tamil channel (vijay tv). It is really too costly. There is no sun network, all the tamil music and news channels are missing. In the last three months, I did not see any improvements from MyWay.

Of course, I have problem with pictures becuase of the broadband disconnection.

In my view, IPTV is better than DTH. But BSNL failed to use the chance to develope it before competitors enter.....

I have decided to use AIRTEL DTH. Is that good idea?

The settop box is slow as hell, have to press remote buttons twice or thrice to change the channel
And the customer service is great as hell, typical of BSNL, no one bothers what you want, noone knows nothing of plans or procedure to change the plans, the worst iptv in india.
