Default Bsnl iptv

IPTV or Internet Protocol Television is a technology that allows users to get television programs through their broadband internet connection. Currently we are receiving television signals in India through cable lines and through DTH services. One of the advantages of IPTV is that it will give the user a lot of freedom that they cannot normally enjoy with cable TV or DTH. Your television viewing can become highly interactive and you can personalize your viewing experience.

As per the latest reports from BSNL, the company will launch IPTV for Indian consumers soon. BSNL is all set to launch this new service shortly. The tariffs of IPTV subscription from BSNL is very likely to be highly competitive to attract more users and to make sure that it does not lose its customers to the new players that may come into the market.

BSNL is more likely to launch this service in Chennai first and expand its network gradually. In their test drive, BSNL noticed IPTV had a very eager response from the users. As per BSNL official reports, the company has struck deals with 30 plus channels and this number is very likely to increase gradually.

As we can easily guess, IPTV will become a powerful competitor to DTH, which is now considered to be taking over the market from the cable network operators. Once IPTV is popularized the cost of DTH services are very likely to do down to stay competitive. However, experts say that DTH will continue to dominate the market until we get more reliable high speed internet connections. The quality of DTH television will continue to be superior to IPTV.

Currently, our television experience is a linear or one-way experience. The television channels telecast their programs and the viewers have to just find time to watch the shows when they are telecasted. With IPTV, it will be a different experience; users can enjoy the video on demand feature.

Many are under the wrong perception that IPTV can be viewed only through PC. The new technology will allow users to view their IPTV shows through their television, PCs and even their mobile phones. So your TV viewing is not limited to your homes you can enjoy television shows on the move as much as you have your business communications on the move. Therefore, it is not only the business on the move now, IPTV allows also pleasure on the move.

Users will be able to request a program from the TV guide and the requested program will be delivered to the user. Number of other features that can be enjoyed with IPTV include recording of the programs in the digital format, fast forwarding and rewinding of the television shows like you do with the DVD and much more.

BSNL is yet to announce the launching date. As of now, what we know is that it is going to be soon. We will have to wait to see how soon we can start enjoying this service from BSNL.

4 - 5 years don't expect anything less for iptv to be commonly used like broadband. I read in one of the posts that it was in 2005 that broadband was launched (in Bangalore). Even today other than B category towns broadband is not a routine. C category towns and less urban areas still have a few broadband connections. But iptv is going to be a hit, today or later. I think it is already widely used in US and all.
