Anyone have used VOIP/Skype in Cellone GPRS? Is there any additional charge for it. I have an unlimited GPRS plan.

skype voice requires at least around 50 kbps steady bandwidth to function reasonably. Don't think that sort of bandwidth is possible with GRPS.
Technology is not a problem coz i have edge+wifi+3g enabled phone.
Only want to know whther skype usage will come within the unlimited usage pack, or whether they will take it as "downloads" and charge me more?
If you have got unlimited gprs service why do you get charged for downloading?
Any way if you use skype and have subscribed to unlimited gprs service with no data transfer limits then no you wont get charged anything extra..
On the other hand skype will not work very wekk and there will be massive lags while talking and thats if you have got edge service and without edge I very much doubt if your calls will even connect...
Once 3g tariffs come down a bit then skype will work very well and without having to pay anything extra...
Use Nimbuzz new version which is also able to make voice call to skype i am using unlimited cell one plan there will not be any additional chanrges ...good news for GPRS users...
cheers
Skype or VOIP is a bandwitdh hogger. You need to have a good and steady upload and download speeds to have a fairly good voip connection. Skype uses proprietary voice codecs which may require low bandwith. Try this voip speed test to see if your GPRS connection can support VOIP.

Skype via GPRS is not advisable however it will work for text chats.. for voice chat you will need wifi or 3G network. And if you do manage it on GPRS, you will have to pay for every KB you use, so be careful.
using airtel gprs -unlimited with skype, both voice chat and text chat
