    Exclamation Help!!!! Bsnl grps/edge...........

    BEFORE:
I Bought Nokia 5130 XpressMusic in september month and my sim card was BSNL postpaid.
I subscribed to GPRS [Unlimited GPRS Rs.199/month]
They asked me for my phone model to 58355
I tried every thing but they said "Sorry, no available settings for your handset."
    Then i sent Nokia 7210 to 58355
    I recieved six configuration settings
    1. bsnlstream
    2. bsnlwap
    3. bsnlnet
    4. bsnllive
    5. bsnlportal
    6. bsnlmms
I created an access point that used packet data access point "bsnlnet"
using bsnlnet, i checked my emails on mobile, used another 3rd party java applications and also browsed internet on my pc through Bluetooth PAN network.
When i used bsnlnet, e big sign E appeared on top of my phone screen.
E meant EDGE, which was faster enough for me
I got a speed of 20-22 Kbps through BSNL edge.

    1 December 2009
I pressed menu button on phone and went to Settings>>Restore Factory Settings>>Restore All and put security code. a few seconds later, my phone restarted and i lost every thing
I sent Nokia 7210 to 58355 [Nokia 7210 has equal same settings as my phone] but no reply, therefore i sent GPRS199 to 53733 and I got a message "Your request is accepted, you will get the confirmation in 48 hrs."

    2 December 2009
I sent message again and i got a new message
"Welcome! your Nokia 7210 handset will be configured with access to service. please accept when prompted.
I got the six access points again
BUT THIS TIME, IT IS NOT EDGE!!!! IT IS GPRS!!!!! AND VERRY SLOW!!!!! i can't even reach 10 kbps.
PLEASE HELP ME TO GET EDGE ON MY PHONE............................................. .................................................. ..........

    Default aircel

EDGE service is provided by the service provider.you cannot get if your service provider is not giving it.Try checking at some other place in your city or away from city whether it is GPRS or edge there. One thing you can do try checking with different network setting in mobile like GSM mode and Dual mode etc.try changing them then see if there is any difference. As regarding aircel i'm using aircel 98/- PM unlimited internet.it is slower than BSNL.but not bad considering it is for only 98/-.

hmmm this shall not happen... maybe the nearest BSNL exchange doesnt support edge anymore.. 58355 will always send you edge settings and gprs settings are not differently sent..

try again at some other place, you should get to see it..

your nearby tower is not giving you edge.. believe me.. happens at my bsnl tower too, they give G and not E sometimes.. its a server based problem at their side and not your side..

Yah Mickey Bro Most Networks Are Providing A Limited Usage In Gprs To Control The Congestion On Their Network BandWidth For Most User Its Useful And Other Its Enough
But Most Networks Also Provide 2G Speeds Every Where I Hope

No. There are some places in rural areas, where the towers have G capabiltites. But though its so, BSNL gprs G gives consistent access, even in those interiors too..
