Reliance is already offering same features @ 50p (instead of 49p) in both GSM and CDMA

    But reliance is not providing:
    1. Free Missed Call Alert
    2. Two BSNL no. at discounted Rate without daily or Montly Rent
    3. Free SMS Delivery Report.

Agreed. But coverage and signal strength wise Reliance (atleast the CDMA version) is much better than BSNL

For me both reliance and bsnl are good.. but i dont have good experiences from Reliance's side,, they are expensive in "other" things and they will never bring you your billing report when you are a 2 year old subscriber...

I'v no idea why some people think BSNL is the cheapest (have heard this statement before). Reliance, DoCoMo, Uninor, etc., all have similar and even cheaper plans.

As for the above, delivery reports have always been free with Reliance. In fact I don't recall any operator other than BSNL charging for this. Don't know if they still do.

DoCoMo provides free Missed call alerts.

As for on-net calling, most/all operators have attractive plans.

Furthermore, it seems BSNL's mobile network is still quite poor in Pune. Only couple of my friends have it, and most of the time when I speak to them, the voice clarity is below average to very poor. In the evenings, it is very difficult to get thru to Cellone numbers.

I dont know why is BSNL so poor in Pune, but at my place it rocks..

but indeed as you said, i had been charged 10 paisa for sms report, so this statement is not true that bsnl sets it free..

    Default BSNL loyalty prepaid connection

The Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited's offer of free loyalty prepaid mobile connections for its landline customers, which will have numbers similar to those of the existing landline phones, has been extended to October 31.

BSNL Alappuzha general manager T. Natarajan, addressing a press conference here, said customers using BSNL landlines for at least three years could apply for the free prepaid connections, from which all calls to the landline number held by the customer will be free.

The last five digits of the landline number will be given for the prepaid mobile connection. In case the landline numbers belong to the ‘vanity' category, there will be special charges for getting the similar number.

The pay per second connection will have a validity of 180 days and free talk-time worth Rs.15, Mr. Natarajan said. Those interested will have to submit an application along with a passport size photo, copy of the electoral identity card and the latest landline bill to any customer service centre, he said.

The loyalty offer was first launched in Kerala and in one month, over five lakh connections were given in the State, about 30,000 of which were in Alappuzha district.

BSNL's plans to give 30,000 broadband connections in the district by March 2011 were also progressing. The broadband connections could be booked either over the toll-free number 1555, or by sending an SMS to 94465-00555, typing “BB<space>Land phone number (without STD code). BSNL representatives would contact the customer on receiving the SMS and do the necessary for installing the new connection, Mr. Natarajan said.

Default But Bsnl Doesnt Provide 3G Services To Villages

Now A Day Bsnl Is Slashing The Prices Of Their Mobile Tariff,Mobile Broadband 3g,Broadband Services,But Why They Dont Launch 3G Services In Villages
But Most Of Other Private Networks Are Spreading Their Service Entire Villages Also Its Not Good Service With Providing A Cheap Rate Service Better Try To Give The Oputunity Of All Customers Bsnl Doesnt Do That Because Its A Got Firm Worker Get Salary And They Dont Have Any Responsibility Among The Custormers
    So Bsnl Sucks A Lot

    Thumbs up

i use bsnl 2g, which is the best. only problem is, you need to find out everything on your own. trust me..very good gprs speed at affordable price. no unnecessary money deductions. i tried so many other so called 'best services'. the difference between them and bsnl is they are better advertisers than bsnl.

BSNL being public funded company is always cheap compared to other private operators who look for profit/margins. If you need cheap/reliable service then go for BSNL. If you have problems with signal/service take time, go and talk to your area DE or SDE and submit a written compliant. They are slow/lazy/idiots and some times careless but if you presist they will work on your problems (takes time and patience).

Try doing the same with private operators... I am sure they will not even care for your problems unless you are big fat goose (High usage/post paid customer)
