Thread: Unable to use Opera Mini 5 with bsnl gprs

I am unable to use OperaMini browser 5 in my handset (Nokia 5800XM) with BSNL GPRS. Is it needed to configure separately for this? Please Advice.

Can you tell me what accesspoint are you using to access net through opera mini??

The bsnl accesspoint for internet is " bsnlnet "
for phone's inbuilt browser it is " bsnlwap "

Yes, my access point is 'bsnlnet'. Whenever I try to connect OperaMini, it takes about 2 minutes then 'unable to connect....please check your settings' message appeared.

Your default browser works? Plus with your data plan can you use your phone as modem?

If not then you need another plan. If yes then it should work, but it isn't? then you need a different version of opera mini.

How this was fixed in my Nokia 7230....

Menu > Settings > Configurations >Personal settings

I changed the account name to bsnlnet and then went to
Access point sett.> Bearer settings where I gave the following settings...

Packet data acc. pt.: bsnlnet
Network type: IPv4
Authentication type: Normal
Username:
Password:
(The last two left blank)

Going back to Configurations, I set Preferred access pt. as bsnlnet and then Act. def. in all apps.

Now opera is working....

Note that my Default config setting is bsnlnet

just go to configuration in your nokia mobile then personal configuration and after that click add new - access point - account name will show change it to bsnlnet in bearer setting packet data acc. pt change it and write bsnlnet now check the opera mini it will work surely

hi bro...go to settings - connectivity - destinations - internet - check whether there is a access point ..if it is bsnl south...it wont work effective sept 7th .... if u want settings for ur nokia 5800
type NOKIA 5800 to 58355 u will receive ur settings...
and u will receive the settings the pin code is 1111 ...
and save bsnl net access point...

bsnl is one of worst gprs providers most of the time it doesnt connect
