Its a good idea to provide your system's configuration to attract more inquiries then you would get like this ^^

Gone are the days when locally assembled PC's used to cost 50-60% less then branded ones with same configuration.
These days branded PC prices have come down sharply and I speak from experience... I have bought about 11-12 PCs in my life time and many of them were assembled ones but now I only stick to branded stuff and I am happy with the one I have got now.. its an Advent T8 it does make a lot of noise but its a power house

Apart from that I have had some very good experiences with Dell and their prices are not too bad either.

You cannot go wrong with DELL. HP/Compaq is the second best. With branded PC you will also get preloaded and official XP or Vista. The prices are comparable and comptetitive also. I would recommend branded PC.

But if your are looking at a Gaming PC you should have:

    a) Intel Core 2 Duo or equivalent or higher with the highest FSB speed as possible
    b) Two hard disks on SATA - 80 GB for Primary Boot+OS and 160GB for your game installs. This way you will not have disk contention.
    c) Minimum 256 MB graphics card on PCI-Express - 512 is better
    d) At least 17" LCD
    e) At least 1 GB RAM
    f) Vista Home Premium or XP/Pro

when u are searching for assemblers, do not forget to mention ur location.

ur approx budget may help in recommending a good Gaming Machine
