Thread: wifi router with laptop + phone

Hi,
I have local cable broadband internet and Airtel ADSL2+router.
I plugged local cable internet provider cable in Airtel router and now Airtel ADSL router is working as wifi-router (non-adsl).
Till here everything fine, Internet on my laptop is working fine.

Now, I tried to connect with same wifi on phone, I got connected after providing pre-shared key. But When I tired to surf any site on mobile I am getting following message:
"Your ADSL is down, please check if its plugged in".

This is not phone problem, Since I tried with 2-3 phone and facing same problem.
Also this is not phone problem, same phone and same wifi router was working fine earlier when I was using Airtel broadband.

So, I think issue is with wifi configuration setting, since I have changed my ISP from Airtel to local cable operator.
Problem is that I am unable to login in router through:
192.168.1.1 or
192.168.0.1

Earlier when I was using Airtel broadband, above IP 192.168.1.1 was working fine for my router.

Please suggest.

Mention model number/make of wifi router.( 450TCI 0r BinatoneDTW845W???)
Presume you connected CableISP rj45 to LAN1 port.
wifi working for laptop. ( outer settings as usual)

Do you have to Log in to connect ?

START RUN type cmd OK
NEW window
type ipconfig /all
Your Gateway to ISP will be different as you are part of a LAN
( No modem to acccess. Some supply Cable modem )

Copy/paste data here.

Modem can be connected as usual and 192.168.1.1 accessed.
No cable ISP connection
In the modem/router Select "BER"
Enable DHCP in ( LAN page usually ) give a range. say 192.168.1.3 to 192.168.1.8.. SAVE reboot.

Yes, model 450TC1.
Yes, I have to login to connect.
Yes, Wifi is working fine on laptop.


I did reset modem and re-configure but still I am facing same issue.
i.e. Wifi is working fine on laptop and on phone, I am getting message
After connecting to wifi, I am getting message:
"Your ADSL is down, please check your ADSL is plugged in"


So, now problem is that I can go inside the router but I don't know how to make it enable to access on Phone.

Could you open the menu pages of Beetel 450TCI?
There is No "MER" option in this router. Ignore.

Yes, Wifi is working fine on laptop

, I presume SSID appears in laptop and phone but cannot surf.
( This may happen without any connection to WIFI router. confirm.

Does the laptop work in LAN mode ? Internet ok . surfing Ok ?
