It has been for long that I shifted from WiMax to cable internet of reliance and I should say it was a big mistake. Almost every months I have a problem with the connection.
Worse than that is the call center of reliance. There are uneducated people whom don't understand anything regarding computer are sat there trying to solve the issues.. My ass...
They don't even listen to what customers say.
It has been more than a month(almost two months) my connection was disturbed. I called everyday to call center and they told these words: "We understand you and we are sorry for the inconvenient sir, we will rectify your problem with in 24 hours". They never contacted me, they never visited my house until some days back and worse than that, they used to put my complaints as "Resolved". So I had to log a new complaint almost every two days. Until the day I visited the main office of reliance in Kumar building-Pune and told them the problem. I talked to a lady in charge of the customers and she promised that they would solve the problem within 3 working days.The promise which did not happen. But at least they did not put the complaint as "Resolved" again. I was so frustrated and didn't know what to do. I called Airtel for the connection, but Airtel did say that they have no service in the area I live. TATA's ports were full. So no choice left for me except holding to reliance.
After 2 months 3 days back their so called technician visited my house. He told me that they found the problem and the cable which is running from building to their server is weak, so they are changing that... They did but that one didn't solve the problem. I told them to change the port, and I think the port I'm connected with has a problem. So called technician called his boss but they refused. So I got angry and asked for the reason of their refusing. No reply except "WE CAN'T SIR". So I got angry and told them either fix it or just now terminate my connection. After some argument they left, but they returned an hour later and told that they had changed. I checked again and .... problem was there again. I told them "JUST TERMINATE THIS CONNECTION", and told them to leave. They left but after half an hour, the connection started to act fine. They left a message with my security guard that tell him the problem is solved and yes, it was. But I gave it a try for three days and I found there is another problem.. My internet speed reduced to 700kbps from 1024kbs.
So I called reliance call center and told them the issue... but the answer I got is "Sir your connection speed is correct and there is no problem with that."
You judge yourself; is 700 = 1024 ?
After so much explanation to that uneducated person on the other side, he told me the reason might be from a virus. I told him I have an anti-virus on windows. Then he said then the problem might be from the anti-virus. I didn't know what to say to such a person. And I really didn't know if I should laugh or cry that I am talking to a such person.I hanged off the phone and re-dialed. I talked to another one and he answered me the same thing with the difference that this time he didn't say the problem is from anti-virus. But what it was funny is that this time, it told him I am using ubuntu - linux.. The truth - The person asked me if I have anti virus installed on it. I answered: " No, Do you know LINUX? It doesn't require an anti virus to be installed". Then he replied: "Yes, it is an operating system but since you haven't installed an antivirus on it, definitely your system is infected by a virus sir". I said thanks for his help and hanged off. LINUX and virus??? If you know what linux is how come you have no idea of linux based and unix based that they can't be infected? Just say "no I don't know what linux is" for the sake of God... Just say NOOOOOOO!
At the end, after those pressures, anxiety and frustration talking to uneducated technicians of reliance call center or better to say "Customer care" (as-if) I should really thank reliance - my dear ISP - that if they don't provide me (at least me) a proper internet they don't let my money to be waisted. They provided me a "Customer Care Call Center" where whenever I call I laugh for hours after talking to them. I feel I pay a a half of my money for listening to a phone comedy and the other half for keeping me busy and amused during the month. I don't want to terminate this internet connection...NEVER!
