Hello Guys i'm new to this forum.

I have Type II teracom BSNL modem without BSNL internet connection,the question is i want to connect an external BEAM cable internet to this modem to access wifi, is it possible???

Not possible I think. You can use it with only ADSL services. But if you have Windows 7 Home Premium or higher as operating system and has a WiFi adapter in your PC (most laptops have), you can use a software called Connectify and use your laptop as a WiFi hotspot to which you can connect other systems.

In case you are using a desktop, a PCI Wirless cards costs under Rs. 500.

but my laptop showing full wifi signal...when im trying to connect it says windows was unable to connect to "BSNL_AP" which is my old username.....im using windows7

Explain how you have connected the modem now. Which all cables come in and go out ? What is the status of LEDs on modem ?

Do you have any password / MAC filter ? If yes, disable it and try.

sorry the signal was from the router, it shows even after the beam cable is removed.....

WLAN led is blinking.DSL(no wire connected) is also blinking, lan1 is constant.

is there any chance to connect this bsnl adsl II router to beam cable.

is it waste without BSNL connection

try "connectify" application. if you have more than one wifi enabled system. Laptop/smartphones etc.
In windows 7
Wlan Network page select Diagnose
What is the error message you get .?
You can keep the rj45 connected and select WIFI mode.

Para two:
I assume your Beam CABLE IS A rj45 going DIRECT to LAN port of computer ( desktop /laptop) NO cable modem supplied.

2. In BSNL modem In WAN page select " MER" SAVE rebootand other settings mostly auto select.
WIFI settings no change.
If "MER" option not seen select "bridged " ( almost similar )
3. Connect Beam rj45 cable to LAN1.
Another Rj45 to desktop.
Log in for Beam connection.
If connected, WIFI also will work.

We had reports with this method for Wimax ( suggested by @glass)
wifi was working..

New window
type ipconfig /all

I will give another method, which seems to be working for me
with a similar 3 in 1 wifi router ( adsl portion Not working )
with an additional ADSl modem.
