Beam Fibre Wifi Connectivity Help I recently migrated from an airtel connection to beam fibre...
I got a Beetel Adsl modem (450 bx1 ADSL2+Router) provided by airtel
I fail to get wifi connectivity through this modem....
Someone Please let me know the settings I need to configure in order to use this modem as a router for beam fibre to work with it..

If what you get is one Rj45 cable to connect to your Computer ethernet port, then get connected first.
2. In Beetel 450BXI wan page select "MER' rest entries auto select.
wifi page as usual.
3. Reconnect another rj45 from LAN 2 to desktop(laptop) ethernet port.
try to log in. ( IE browser)
If successful check the ssid appears in Laptop and check WIFI in laptop or in another laptop.

2. enter 192.168.1.1/main.html ID: admin PW :admin or password.
Modem menu items
Advanced settings; WAN edit line 0_35 next( if needed all lines!!)
As we do not know the vpi/vci settings if any for Beam)
vpi/vci 0 35 next instead of "bridged" or PPPoE select "MER"
next next etc.
Menu wireless earlier settings no change. SAVE REBOOT 2 minutes wait.
(This setting is same as Dialer mode but bypasses your system dialer)
Now connect as mentioned earlier. and log in for Beam.in Browser.

These are the steps I followed..
1) I connected my internet cable to port 1 of the adsl modem.
2)I connected an RJ-45 from adsl modem(port 2)to the ethernet port of my laptop.
3)I followed the steps to change the settings in the above posts as adviced but to no avail.

I followed step no 7 and 8 but couldnt connect.
Update :
I connected my internet cable directly to the modem to port1.from on other port I connected an RJ-45 to my laptop's ethernet port.I am able to access internet.But am not able to acess in wifi mode.

Post ipconfig /all data LAN and WLAN only.
DHCP is enabled in LAN menu page of modem. enough.

Select WLAN. Click the Icon Select status.
Wireless Network connection status page.
Check details Ip address default gateway dns etc.
Click Diagnose. Let windows 7 do fault finding.
Report error message.

11.)I checked the IP address,DNS etc for WLAN,everything seems perfect !!
when diagnose is clicked windows 7 reported the following error(please check the screenshot)
ifObtain Ip address automatically selected uncheck and enter.
IN WLAN Now try the same Ip subnet mask Gateway etc in wlan setttings as shown in LAn ethernet . Ip address change to 183.82.154.173.

Please check the screenshot.I attached a screenshot for the settings i configured for wlan.(ip address,dns etc)...but the problem persists...
I even tried giving the same static Ip to LAN(internet cable connected directly to laptop)...but it didnt work
Again try Diagnose.

I tried to diagnose..Since i have given a static ip address for wlan it says DHCP not enabled in WLAN..I also tried the option for giving the IP automatically..when this is done it says DNS not reachable when dianosed.
12)The IP given in the DHCP range are from 183.82.128.3 - 183.82.128.10.DHCP server is in the series of 183.82.128.XX,I am giving in that series itself....When I try to give the DHCP range in the settings page from 183.82.154.XX - 183.82.154.XX and try to save It throws an error saying the series differ...
13)The IP address at the moment is get is 183.82.154.2

see my set up. Except for the Ip address in lan and wlan mode rest all same. Windows 7 pro.
Perhaps you can borrow a standalone WIFI router and connect rj45 to WAN port and select DYNAMIC IP in the wireless router.
( This option not available in Beetel 450BXI)
110BXi to Bsnl Rj45 cable to LAN1 of beetel TCI ( adsl part not working ) Lan2 to laptop ethernet port ( can be kept connected in windows 7. )
Wifi mode . both working.
Its working with a standalone router perfectly...no issues...Just wanted to make it work with the beetel modem...havent got any clue why it isnt working for me...

tried dynamic IP PPPoE failed. ( No MER option )
Selected Static IP
gave ip address as 192.168.1.1 ( beetel110BXI)
subnet 255.255.255.0
Gateway 192.168.2.1 ( beetel450TCI)
Working perfectly. Only problem I cannot access 450TCI menu items now! Can reset and check if needed.

This problem was discussed earlier in WIMAX and as per @glass "MER" option was tried. ( Reliance Tata etc )
then connecting to Standalone wifi router.
NowI tried lan1 etc.
( Tikona no reports so far ) Most cable service BB seems to work with a stand alone wifi router.

sorry in the router WAN setup there is no option to enter an ip address in PPPOE protocol...the option is provided only in MER
Instead of using Full quote immediately preceding your message, ( no useful purpose is served)if you had seen above comment , and mentioned this we could try something.( Instead of obtain Ip address automatically See routing menu )

I followed the above process,when i try to give Beam IP and save...I get the following error
Default Gateway Configuration Error
Configure default gateway failed.
route: SIOC[ADD|DEL]RT: Network is unreachable.
Click on "Back" button to configure default gateway again.
Present position: Using Beetel450BXi in "MER"
Beam works in LAN mode. WIFI N/A. ( Standalone wifi router works )
Go to Management and Backup /SAVE present settings to say
C://My Documents/Beetel/Beam settings.

Yes,Exactly the modem is configured in MER
Beam Is working in LAN Mode and also with an other standalone router.
The Ip address shown is 192.168.1.2 when the above process is followed.
When I try to give BEAM IP It is showing an error as I already told.
I tried giving BEAM IP after the vpi/vci screen...It does not work.
Ok. Noted. will PM later , if any solution found / possible .
