ACT FTTH Tariffs Bangalore

For those who live in Bangalore you are very lucky, as you have the availability of ACT FTTH conenction, for which you can get up to 50Mbps. Below is a table which shows the tariff plans for ACT FTTH in Banglaore.

The lowest plan is from Rs649 which gives you a 2Mbps connection, for the lowest 15Mbps connection the monthly charges is Rs999, for the lowest Rs25Mbps connection monthyl charge is Rs1349 and the lowest 50Mbps connection is Rs3249. For plan with a higher FUP limit the costs are more.

Thos are some nice plan right there. Its a shame we dont have them in our area.

Yes apparently the plans seem to be mind-blowing because of the high speeds but in the end one has to end up with 256/512 kbps. If we consider the plan of Rs. 1349(that fits most people's budget), it will deliver 25mbps up to 60GB and 512kbps afterwards, i.e after 60GB the download speed will throttle to just 64 KB/s. I see people(including me) who consume 110-120GB data per month with 2mbps connection. So how long will they take to spend that 60GB with 25mbps speed? ...hardly 5-7 days. And then they will again enter the stone age with 512kbps for the rest of the month. So indeed, its a 512kbps unlimited plan. And i don't respect these types of plans with FUPs that doesn't deliver a stable speed throughout a month. I'll prefer the 2mbps to that so called 25mbps plan if any day it comes to Kolkata.

It appeals to me because I hardly ever go beyond 10-12GB in a month as I do not download anything on my computer any more. Have a cheap server to keep data stored and the speed I get on the server is like 70-80Mbps Earlier my usage used to be 250-300 GB when I used to download website backups onto my computer regularly but I dont do that any more.

For heavy downloader as you rightly said a 2Mbps connection without a FUP would be far better. I myself have a 1.5Mbps connection without FUP which I got 2 days ago but my usage again wont cross more then 10-12Gb in a month because I dont really download anything apart from tiny 2-3KB files on FTP and upload them after editing and thats about it really.

I agree with you 100% There is no point in getting a connection with higher speed but lower FUP.

Different plans appeal to different kinds of users and this is why companies have all those different plans. What does not suit me may look like a dream plan to you and vice versa.

My nephew has this 1099 plan in Bangalore. The speed is excellent, sometime reaching 20 Mpbs. But suddenly it gets cut off for some time, meaning it is unreliable.

I would still get it even if it is unreliable just for downloading work. 20mbps is a lot of bandwidth in India.
