The Fiat Linea is sassy, smart and is stylish from whichever angle you look at it..Specially the angular joint lines in the front and rear fender that added a touch of panache. The cat eye shaped headights and split air dam in front give it a Maserati like look. The tipped forward glass with the swooping roofline and muscular wheel arches give it the look of a luxury class category car.
Its got really nice fit and finish on the inside. Its got a music system, steering control, voice activated commands, tilt-adjust for your steering wheel and really nice old car retro looking dials.
The Linea feels solid, the build quality is strong. However there were certain things that fell short of expectations..like the seat height adjust was difficult to use and the steering felt too close to the body for comfort..The storage areas were’nt too many..Still, a rear sunblind and rear aircon vents added to the imressive line up of features.
It comes with 1.3 multi-jet..It is turbo-charged and it comes with 90bhp and additional torque too. The VGT (Variable geometry turbo) ensures a good power spread.
Linea's short gearing makes it good for city driving and its what gives this one better acceleration times in gear than the more powerful Verna..However the flat out acceleration isn’t that great and the Linea takes a good 15 sec to the 100 mark..B The engine gets a litte gruff as well in the midrange and you hear it inside.Howver it’s a tolerable sound and not really intrusive..The gearshift is nice and positive too and quite light as well.
Linea feels really nice, solid and well planted..Its steering is also well weighted and it gives you lot of accuracy. It has a great ride handling compromise.
It has all the ingredients that a car in this category needs..It’s well loaded. You can expect it to be competitively priced which means it’s value for money as well..Now all that Fiat has to do is to give good service back-up…and this one is a winner at their hands.
