GPS is slowly catching on in India. One such device is MapMyIndia Navigator 430.
This device sports a 480x270 pixels 4.3" anti-glare LCD screen, an SD slot for cards up to 2 GB, and audio out.
MapMyIndia claims to have maps for 401 cities/town preloaded at the street level, which is wonderful. The 4.3" screen has touchscreen elements with an easy menu. It comes with all the cables that you will need including a 12V car charger.
The SIRF GPS chipset can locate the satellites with comparative ease. Once you enter the address, then the interactive voice guide the driver through.
The best part of the fun is that it can accept SD cards upto 2 GB and can play AVI (DViX) files. The audio out jack can connect to the car speakers, if the car music system has an AUX-IN. So you can play, not only video, but MP3/JPEG, as well. So when not using the device, enjoy it as as a in-car video/audio.
The downside is the very high price of Rs. 20,000/-.
