Opel Astra
The Opel Astra combines excellent looks with great performance and user comfort. It’s CLUB (Petrol) model comes with a customized electric sunroof that glides back at the push of a button. Its specially designed interior offers a high degree of comfort and convenience. It was a really great car in it's time but now it is really expensive to own it as its spare parts are not easily available in market and some how you get it they are really very expensive. So this car is a history now.

Only in India.. In UK opel sells in the name of Vauxhall and Vauxhall astra's are still selling like hot cakes in UK and I have a Vauxhall astra active and I still love it.. its 2003 model and I have never had any trouble with it.
Even the UK police has astras in most areas and they have bought hundreds of new ones as well and the main reason I see is the handeling at extremely high speeds is just great

and its one of the safest cars available

Opel Astra is really a good car to drive. A friend of mine has one like this but modified (its more sportive) and I really like it ! Personally i wouldn't like driving something like that as its too fast and too risky

Well if you dont like this car because it is too fast then i think it is not a good reason. Like every car can be fast all and i think all that matter is that how fast you drive it.

This car is not that much fast as you are saying. Like what we get in India is not anything near which would make me afraid of it in any terms.

This car had a big drop back like it had starting problem in winters and the second big drop back of this car are its spare parts costs which are very expensive. So not recommended to any one who is looking to buy it.

hey all,
this is jus to make you guys clear your doubts regarding the opel astra,
the astra is one of the most loves and reliable cars that are sold in induia.
i happen to own an 2001 opel astra club for last 4 years and the car is still running like a dream.
where we guys go wrong with opels is u end up givin your car to some shaddy roadside mechanic/ garage. opels need specialised care and knowhow.

i have not spend a penny more that wat i have spent on my other cars on my astra.
moreover the car has never failed me in spite of havin run more than 100thousand kms.
and the comfort is unbelievable!!!!!!!!

speed wise - she can do 200kmph on the pune -mumbai expressway without breaking a sweat.

get in touch if you like opels and would like to optimize their performance..

Its good to see someone who enjoys Astra's in India. I own a 2003 ASTRA 1.6. and I'm looking for a good Mechanic in Pune. . have shown it to quite a few ppl but no one has been able to resolve the issues. . . I'm facing some issues wid the suspension of the car, so if u can reffer any good Opel Machanic in Pune. . It will be great help .

Are you serious? the stock car with 75hp can do 125 miles per hour?
I doubt my Opel Omega clone can even do that with 200hp...

Hey I m planning to buy an 1998 automatic astra petrol at around 1.25 lakhs. please guide me regarding its price and further cost of owning like fuel efficiency, servicing costys etc. your advice will make big diff for me. thanks
