Thread: Volvo S80: Luxury with Safety

Volvo has been promoting luxury cars in India. S80, the mid-size executive Sedan or Saloon is a fine symbol of Safety with Scandinavian Design. It styling with a distinct belt line and rear lights that tapers from curves to points is well admired by all.

Volvo S80 has a 4.4 L V8 AWD engine which gives a 315 hp/ 440 Nm torque for the petrol engine. The diesel version has a D5 engine with 185hp/400 Nm torque. First introduced in 1998, the Volvo S80 has under gone many modifications over the years.

In the 2010 updated version, the Volvo S80 has features like the 2.5T and 2.5 FT which are modified so as to generate higher power but with lower consumption of fuel. Even the exterior is tailored with a lower, longer and wider stance for the well-loved car.

The 2010 Volvo S80 facelift also gives the choice of two different chassis standard chassis which enhances the comfort and an aerodynamically better sports chassis. The features like sports steering wheel, sports pedals, leather seats and sports gearshift knob adds to the interior package.

The safety of the travelers is ensured using the Dynamic Safety Traction Control, whiplash protection system, Side impact protection system and emergency brake assist. The S80 is the first model released by Volvo that also has an Adaptive cruise control together with Collision Warning system and the Brake Support System.

Other features that add to the drivers' ecstasy are Personal Car Communicator, Intelligent Driver Information System, RTI Navigation System, Clem Zone Interior and a Reverse Parking Camera.
