It would take some time before it would come inot india but i would say it would be good if our government takes my serious steps to get it as fast as possible as it would be good for all.

Our government would take serious steps but would not execute for a long time till they are successful and this is the biggest drop back in our country government.

Our indian government or any politicians does not have any time to think about it. they are more concerned about on how to keep their position intact and how to rig the next elections, etc. When was the last time some politicians did any good in india, i don't remember.

Coming back to the point, car manufacturer's also plays a part too, they also should start thinking in that way to make travelling easier and more cheaper and environmental friendly.

well i am not kidding.......the bicycle is the best option for that............there are many countries in europe whcih declared one day as bicycle day on whcih everyone (including the President & PM) do all the rides on the bicycle......that has two advanteges : fuel saving & reduction in pollution.....but i think as indians our dignoty sucks ourself.

the electric car, biodiesel are just things with which we can proceed some more days.....not permenant solution

We already have electric cars here in India and it is selling pretty well in some urban areas where roads are good and is a very good option who go less then 30 kilometres to work.
This electric car has an air conditioning option as well.. the only drawback is the looks.. it looks more of a joke then a car the way it is right now. May be if these guys make a better looking model and slightly larger car it would do a little bit better in Indian markets.
The car is called Reva and comes in various models but they all look the same difference is in the interiors and options lik heating and aircon.
You can have a look at the features here

I would love to buy one of those but there is no service centre here in Delhi that I know of.. may be in future when they come up with a better looking model I would buy one of those.

Riding a bicycle is not that simple in India. The traffic pays least regard to cycles and pedestrians. The weather does not permit it - imagine riding just 4 km in 44° C in summer. It is different in the temperate zones of Europe. And they have dedicated tracks for bicycles.
