Thread: What are computer accessories ?

Computer accessories are those HARDWARE devices which are actually anot needed for a computer to work.


Computer Accessories are:
KeyBoard
Mouse
Printer
Scanner
WebCam
Pen drive etc

These are actually not needed by a computer.Without these also computer can work.Like laptops are there, which does not have any mouse or any other peripheral device.

I believe that you have made an error in the list.

Mouse and KB are necessary. I can agree to some extent that mouse may not be necessary all the times but what about keyboard. How can you say KB is an accessory without which computer will work? Try removing the KB from your computer and see whether it works.

Also you example of a laptop is flawed. A laptop comes intergrated with a KB and mouse touchpad or equivalent. Hence you do not need extra (external) mouse. But you definitely have a mouse.

Anyway, what is the point of your discussion? I would welcome a debate.

i think that you understood a bit less.Thats ok that we need KB for inputting on a computer, this is not necessary to have a debate on that but when it is pointed to me, i will never get back.I ma a lecturer and this is the same thing which i teach.It is obviously not my mere imagination but it is given in the books which i teach hope you'll not argue with that.
You might be having more knowledge than me but i am sure what i wrote.....

I don't have any time for having a debate on that issue, already we are having so many issues going on around us, if you are so much eager to have a debate then why don't you take part in that.

A debate is an open healthy discussion and fair exchange of ideas. You are confusing a debate with an argument, my friend. You are taking offense for no reason at all. Please read my post in a neutral tone.

You yourself said that accessory is something that is not required for a device to function. And later on (after my post) you agreed later that KB is required. So I assume that you agree that KB is not an accessory. But you also said that you quoted what you said was not your mere imagination, it is from books and I should not argue with that, etc.

So now I am confused. Is your textbook right or am I right?

Finally the question that I asked you is what is it that you wish to convey by this post?

Yes ! just4Kix. I confused what to say about this.He is saying that he has taken that topic from books .No book says like that .He is saying taht he is a lecturer and arguing about that . I don't understand why he raise the topic starting with the accessories and that too with Incorrect Discussion.

That is OK. I am not trying to prove that I am right and someone is wrong. I am wrong many times, I admit and that is why a healthy debate is required.

Also, I have learnt to read posts in a neutral tone. This is very important or any post that criticizes you or any opinion that is radically different than your is bound to cause a lot of heat and anguish.

I agree ...Keyboard is essential ...But we can do without mouse ...We can use a computer without GUI .....No GUI no Mouse
I dont think Keyboard is an accessory ...... Your posts have confused me to whether it's an accessory or not ....But normally i would say ..no its not an accessory

You know that she is right.I have asked my lecturer whether KB is accessory or not i.e it is also called as peripheral devices, earlier it was known as accessories but not it had been changed both KB and MOUSE are not considered as accessories.But in books it is same that KB and MOUSE both are accessories.So end that topic cause it is no ones fault because in books it is given what anniiee mam has told.Also in wikipedia it is given that KB and MOUSE both are now a days not considered as an accessory.So both of you cool down.You both are right, miss anniiee and you too.
