Isn't there some minimum cost only above which customs duty applies ?

i have had a bad experience with e-bay and am therefore not very keen about buying form e-bay.moreover,prices will always be much higher if u buy online.buyng from a shop is always your best bet.

I have a 160GB transcend HDD. Its very fast and reliable. I have dropped it many times(some 3 feet height) and its still working gr8. I would suggest that u format the HDD in NTFS after u get it.

I dropped my Transcend 80 gb two years back & had to get a new once.
It was quite fast.

Now I'm thinking what to buy...1 TB external hard disk or 320 gb portable.
Stability is the main issue for me, coz I've heard that many extrenal drives just die after a couple of years.

it doesnt look like one.

well, as i have told u b4, it helped me. It makes the whole thing look a lot more bulkier. Its just an outer shell really, for minor shocks only i guess, i don wanna play around with it.

1 TB hard drive is too large, what's the cache size?

for me 1tb seems to b pretty short now.already have it 80% filled up.i dnld mostly hd mivies so it takes up a lot of space.

i was thinking of getting a laptop from a relative based abroad.
i needed one thing cleared.when they bring the laptop,can it be with the packing,or do they have to remove the packing andshow as if its being used generally??
for small things like ipods,its not a problem.

Remove all packaging. It is better that way. In any case why carry unnecessary weight?

if its only about weight,i guess i will let the packaging on.nothing better than opening the baby right in front of your eyes!!
