I am using a V-Guard UPS which i had bought back in 2002. Had to change the battery 2 years ago. Still gives me 15~17 min backup in the event of a power failure..

V-Guard is one of the best. But I think(even now) they are popular only in South India.

    hi
i too had the same problem of getting corrupted after some time so from that time i am using my own UPS

i made it using a CAR battery and made it, its working very fine now. once in a while when it gets totally drained i have to keep the pc off & charge it for over night rest of the time it works great.

I have had 2 APC UPS's. The first one had a problem. The battery for some reason had bulged. It was a few months old then. They said that the battery was not under warrenty and that i need to buy a new battery.
Then we could not remove the battery frm the UPS. Had to buy another one then. I was not very happy with that, but the new one is fine till now....

Default Help on ups and inverter

I have a sine wave inverter ups with a tata flat bed six cell battery and also a small ups before my computer.

Is there a way to not use the small ups and if using the inverter have it setup so there is no shut down of the computer?

I get conflicting information and the advice is not clear. The way I am told is that if I don't have the small ups, then when the inverter switches on to ups, that short lag time is enough so that the computer will shut off.

    Thanks

APC BackUPS 500VA gives me a back up of ~20-25 minutes without monitor.

thing is my pc, 5.1 speaker system , modem and external hard disk are all hooked up to it, without all these paraphernalia i may get better backup.

Default Still waiting for someone to guide me

    Last post requested help.

What's the best way to setup a desktop computer if you have a sine wav inverter? Mine is 600V, gives about 2 hours total backup, maybe more. I also have a regular small ups.

Hoping someone with practical experience and techinical understanding can steer me right.
