    Default LCD monitor fading colour

Friends its just about 6 months (29th June 2008) that I switched to 19" LCD monitor (LG L192WS). Everything was going on fine till yesterday I noticed it was not displaying the exact colours. It has a bluish effect and colours like red or green look quite lighter than normal. Have contacted LG support and they send one personnel who on inspecting could not quite come with the cause that made this but assured me he would return with a panel to test it properly.
If someone from you can tell me what caused this and if there is anything that I can do to avert such problems in the future it would be greatly appreciated.

did u keep magnets near ur comp ??

I have observed that weird effect on a CRT due to magnets. If exposed for long time, the effect becomes permanent. But i dunno if it happens on an LCD. Anyways, good luck with LG support, hope the replace ur monitor.

Alright in that case I had one of speakers near the LCD screen and as you said I also never heard it affects LCDs though its a common occurrence in case of the CRT monitors. So is there any other thing that I can personally do, apart from relying on LG personnel only.

As far as I think, speakers won't affect them. I have been keeping them alongside my LCD monitor for more than two years now.

Magnets won't affect LCD coz they work on an entirely different concept...

yes they wont affect, that's why some lcd monitors have inbuilt speakers.

The Backlight of the LCD screen determines the quality of the display.
usually the backlight will start fading after 1000 hours of life time even though manufacturer claims more than that(6000).

i guess the backlight was the problem.

so just exchange it for warranty.
