Thumbs up multi core more delay.

As i read in a news,

some research was done in multicore processors , to conclude whether more cores lead to more speed of execution.

they have found that, when more cores are added to the same die, this leads to a memory bandwidth bottleneck and causes delay in accessing data from memory.

so they concluded that , before going to add more cores , we have to consider about the memory bandwidth.

So i conclude that core 2 duo is more efficient with DDR2 than a quad.
quad requires more memory bandwidth like DDR3.

    have your say.....

Could be true... but processor resource intensive stuff like video encoding etc will not suffer.

apart from that can't say anthing coz the present day appz or not optimised for multi cores anyway..

I think its cache memory not system ram ... ddr doesnt come into play then

i beleive he was takin abt the data rate bet proc and memory in which case the new arch used in i7 and aboce should take care of the issue...

so r u saying the FSB system in the core 2 is the system bottle neck ?

that would mean that QPI must have solved the problem ...but theres no mention about it right ?
