    Default Copying data to disk

I have a problem regarding some DVD's i brought recently, and the problem is that i can not copy photos or any data on them. It doesn't matter whether they are -R or +R, as my comp takes both!

When last time i copied some photos from my comp to disk, i didnt have any problems, i brought the CD's from the kodak shop and i used them to copy my photos on them as well as other data!

when i insert the dvd, i copy whatever i want to the disk and then comes a message saying something like copied! But when i try to open the disk drive there is nothing there.

    What may the problem be?

I've already done that, doesn't work!

But generally DVD's can copy near enough anything on them, cant they? It doesnt matter on what kind of data you copy!

which software you are using to burn data, try to use nero once and then see if it can help you in any case.

    Don't use copy-paste function...

    1. Insert blank DVD..
    2. Right click on the file/folder which u wanna burn on the disc...
    3. Choose send to and then choose your DVD drive. Pictured below..
    4. Open My computer and click on your DVD drive there...
    5. Simply choose write these files to cd in the left menu which is under the heading of CD writing tasks. If your disk is not full, you can add more files to it at a later date...

P.S.- Alternately, when you insert a blank DVD into your DVD burner a Windows dialog box will appear. Here you can choose the Open CD folder using Windows Explorer. It will open a cd writing dialog box where you can drag and drop files into it to burn to DVD...

I think Nero is systematical not much complication is present when once anyone know how to burn CD/DVD. May be some times copy/paste is not working properly.

It all depends on the comfort level of a person with an application... One of my friend always use Win XP burning tool... Its like preferring Windows Media Player over Winamp to hear music... Both do the job!

foobar2000 and mediamonkey ... you will forget wmp, winamp, real player etc after using these ...

    foobar2000 is free ... foobar2000

mediamonkey is my favourite - you can download the trial here -> MediaMonkey » Free Media Jukebox, Music Manager, CD Ripper & Converter - probably you would be able to manage a gold version for yourself ..
