Default 20 GB Flash based Thumb Drive

Hi All,

Recently one of my co-workers told me about a Flash based USB Thumb Drive of 20 GB Capacity. An argument ensured as I told him that such capacity is not available..flash based thumb drives have the following capacity
1GB/2GB/4GB/8GB/16GB/32GB...
To my surprise he bought the thumb drive the next day and the capacity is 20 GB...
The brand is Kingston and I have already checked the model and series on Kingston site. It shows the maximum capacity of this series to be 8 GB maximum...
I am totally stumped...
Anyone know whats happening?

Thats what I am telling you guys. Check out the entire range of USB Drives from Kingston

Kingston Technology Company - USB Flash Drives -

And the one which I saw was a Data Traveler 101 which incidentally comes only upto 8 GB capacity...

Will get it tom, if the guy brings it to office. I asked where he got it from and was told that his cousin or something bought it from Dubai...

I have actually seen fake usb drives tweaked to show much higher capacities in the "properties" option than they actually have. but when u try to copy data to it, it would fail to copy beyond the actual capacity.

I wonder if there is any other way of making out. It will take a huge amount of time to try and copy 20 GB worth of data on to the USB

Till we find something, will try to borrow it for some days

More experimentation required...

i think there's a way to differentiate between fake and original..check whether there is model number and capacity printed on the socket of drive..if its not there, its fake...following text is printed on my stick-

DT101N/ 2GB
