Thread: AMD to launch HD4890 "RV790"

AMD is slated to launch the Radeon HD 4890 card based on the RV790 core in April not the rumored Radeon HD 4970. The RV790XT A11 sample is running at 850Mhz core at 1.3V and 975Mhz GDDR5 memory. In comparision, a Radeon HD 4870 (RV770) card runs at 750MHz core and 900MHz GDDR5 memory. It should be 20-30% faster than a 4870.Read more....

try www.newegg.com for the latest prices and user reviews. They get stuff 1 day after launch(usually).

Two versions of HD4890 to be released. Standard version and the OC version. Any ideas about the difference between these?

Really too early to comment on their performance difference. I will try to get some "real" info on that.

Sry i did not mention b4, these are 55nm dies.
