Play a FPS game on my HTPC using one of these:

Are these good/Do-able for a first person shooter ???
This should feel a lot more easier to play a game sitting on a sofa than a regular mouse and keyboard. But in this one, i m worried abt the battery life too.
Any1 who has used such a device for gaming plz tell.

I have used it for NFS but not something like crysis. Does Crysis even have an option for one of these ???

This would make an HTPC very similar to console, but then PS3 games are too costly(2.5K each).

Yes crysis is gamepad compatible. U can tweak the gamepad settings in the Keyboard & Mouse Setup, which can be found in the main menu. Gamepad setup should be listed in there.

Yes. Most of the games being designed nowadays are made gamepad compatible.

hey i just got the gamepad and it does not work.
The newer games are only compatible with the Microsoft Xbox 360 controller for windows. For others u need to get Xpadder.
So here are the steps:
1)DL xpadder.
2)Insert the img of ur gamepad(u can draw it too)
3)Insert the buttons and analogue sticks on the img
4)Assign them a keyboard key or mouse function.
5)save it with a profile name of the game u have made the config for.
6)Start the game, set the controls of keyboard and mouse to default
7)Play the game at EASY or NORMAL difficulty(takes time to get used to the feel of the gamepad)
