hi all
i have a question here to disucss.
i have a laptop DELL Inspiron 1520.
i have decided to buy a USB Sound Card for it as lappy does not support 5.1 sound. hence i am going for this..

is any cheaper USB card available ?
2nd thing is about speakers.... have decided to go either for creative Inspire T6100 or directly for creative GigaWorks G500 :-) lets see..not fix yet.
my frnd has logitech X 540 ...same as t6100 as per rating are considered.
what shld i do ?
and whats the approx price for G500 ??
and will T6100 compatible with the sound card i mentioned above ?

G500 costs 21K (or Rs 21000). I would not recomend it if u will use it with a laptop.

Y dont u go 4 high quality headphones instead ????

I do not think that the USB sound card is gr8. Anything cheaper and u will notice no difference.(u will get 5.1 support is only difference)

will try to get some GOOD reviews on them.

I m guessing that u need it 4 movies ?

Creative Sound Card is too good i guess. X-Fi USB card.

Go 4 this if u can: Altec lansing FX5051

U do not need a 5.1 card, u can use USB instead. Costs 11k.

Altec lansing FX5051 is a crap model...not even magnetically shielded. i wont go for it even if u give me for free :thumbdown:

i dont know where u get ur info frm.............
they ARE magnetically shielded for ur kind info.

whatever but its not magnetically sheilded. and its USB ...so the SO CALLED 5.1 sound is just simulated...n not real 5.1 sound.

else it will be a simulated 5.1 sound via software...
