Thread: Remotes 4 PC

hi guys i want a remote for my PC. I should be able to play/pause movies and also increase/decrease volume.
I did find ATI wonder remote 2, but cant find any place where i can buy it. Even in the US its hard to find. Plz help.

Never Heard of a remote for Desktop PC. I thought only laptops offered them like HP and Lenovo. Search also didn't showed any results.

Why dont you contact ATI directly, so they can let you know about the Store information

Some time back i was also trying the same thing,

in fact i tried to make one at home, as i read in some website, that a homemade infrared serial port receiver can be made to make the thing work.

But unfortunately it did'nt worked. there are some chinese products, not sure if they are available in india or not, that can do the task, They provide a ready made remote and an infrared sensor.

Just google, "serial port infrared receiver" without quotes, and you will get the material required to make receiver at home, but you will have to research on it if you want to see it working at the end.

i found stuff on ebay that does it, but u have to make the software on ur own :|.

Well i have decided to use xpadder with my wireless gamepad, i will be using that as a remote only.......

yea i got the harmony one from logitech .. but i dont have a reciever for it that is compatible with Vista

There are many now... infact one of my friend got a Pinacle TV tuner and with that they have provided remote which can be configured for windows too... like if you are watching TV from far and if something pops up then you can control it with arrow keys on remote ...etc.etc.... there are many other features too

Get a wireless keyboard and mouse.

i alrdy have 1. Not the best option for HTPCs. easier if i had a remote, also battery is the main issue.

i am using my mobile(k608i) as remote
buy a bluetooth dongle.

it can be used to move mouse cursor , play/pause movie , change volume , change speed up/low etc

i did read that thread, but i do not have a windows phone. I do have a bluetooth dongle. The MX air is 9k bro, way too much.

go for the link which itsmemad has in his signature, it will work as a remote itself even you can see the desktop i your phone itself,
No need of Windows phone for that, just need to have a symbian V60 OS phone like 6600, N70, N72 etc...
