Default Pentium 4 has any HDD limit

Some of my friends claim that pentium 4 cannot access more than 160 GB of HDD space . Is this true ?

The closest information I found on net is 137 Gb limitation, but apparently that applies only to older motherboards.

Say for P4 and D101 Intel Mobo would there be a problem for 160+ Gb HDD...

The processor has no relation to the size of HDD.

The size of HDD is restricted by BIOS and Operating System.

no offense but the size of HDD has nothing to do with the operating system it depends on the other factors mentioned in your post as well as on the file system adopted like NTFS,FAT 32 etc. .......
one more thing which is noticiable in view point of the FAT 32 file system is that you can copy only a maximum file size of 4GB ................ at one time..........

while the RAM utilization depends upon the operating system being used and its version i.e. 32 bit or 64 bit .......

As a matter of fact it does.....

Quoted from Intel® Application Accelerator webpage

    Intel® Application Accelerator
Information on using hard drives larger than 137GB (48-bit LBA)

You can use the Intel® Application Accelerator to access the full capacity of hard drives that are larger than 137GB on supported Intel® chipsets with a supported operating system. The Intel Application Accelerator supports hard drives that are greater than 137GB -- which is also referred to as 48-bit logical block addressing (LBA).

Windows* XP, Windows 2000, Windows Me, Windows 98 SE, Windows 98, and Windows NT* 4.0 do not provide native support for hard drives that are larger than 137GB. 48-bit LBA support can be added with Windows* XP Service Pack 1* and Windows* 2000 Service Pack 4*. Please contact Microsoft* for additional information. In order to enable hard drives larger than 137GB, you will need to install the Intel Application Accelerator or install a 3rd party 48-bit LBA controller card.
