Default Read this before buying a graphic card

Graphics Card hierarchy chart(nvidia and ATI comparison)
If you wanna check which graphic card is better, and if you are buying a new graphic card this might help.

NOTE 1: A Card appearing higher in the table is better than a card appearing lower in the table.

    Here you can see that a 8800gt is better than a 9500gt....and a 3870 is better than a 4670.

So read this before buying any gpu.

    Note 2:GTX 275, 285, 295 and ATI 4890, 4770 not listed

    Source

You can sticky it if you want

not very extensive & confirmed/correct data but good for a rough comparison.nVidia's GTX295 is currently the fastest graphics card.

He got that off Tom's Hardware

Each month they have a best graphics cards for the money article
It shows you the best you can get for x dollars.
Note: They base all this off US prices.
The last page of the article each month is a conclusion which has this chart
Here's the most up to date one with everything
I tried to post links to everything but it won't let me till I get 15 posts

so here's the link with a [ ] around the dot so it lets me post it
this is the page with the chart
    www[ . ]tomshardware[ . ]com/reviews/radeon-geforce-price,2323-6.html

I've used these charts lots but the only downside is they don't include each card's rankings when they're used in sli and crossfire

And do not forget the power consumption by the graphic card. A high-end graphic card will consume a lot of Watts and if the SMPS is low powered then there will be problems.

also the more power SMPS must have a 80% or above efficiency because a 500W SPMS with >80% efficiency will cost more than a 600W unbranded/branded SMPS & will provide more power.
