No i dont think its due to virus,

remove the disk and close the tray and observe the time the light blinks and now insert disk and observe, if both the time duration of blinking light is same then the drive is not detecting the disk, try different disk if still same please send it to a Optical drive Doctor

    Yaaree,
the sames happening with me. My computer DVD drive doesnt recognise new disks. For example i put samsung pc suite in it and it read for somewhile than said insert a disk in drive f. Same happens to my different CDs. Amazingly when i put even old scratched Dvds OR Cds they will work flawlessly. Pirate cds and dvds working like cool ice cake. But why not for specific new disks. Somebody help me.

This is due to the dual layer facility, i am also facing the same problem when i asked my tech he said the alignment was disturbed of the lens so its happening then he took the drive for a day then returned it, now its working fine no problem.

Open the cabinet, unplug the power cord and data cable. Replug them, make sure the drive is screwed tightly to the frame. Try again.
