well then, is there a noticeble difference bet. 5.1 and 7.1 ??
and those cards cost $200+......
My on board sound card works just fine. It plays most type of multichannel audio and video files. No need to get a creative sound cards, they suck big time when it comes to compatibility.
the cheapest card i could find e-tail with coax:
Theitdepot - M-Audio Revolution 7.1 High-Definition 7.1 Surround Sound PCI Card
10k !!
My computer speakers recently got damaged during transportation , but my woofer whose cabinet is damaged still works , but my speakers are broken .
which company speakers are good to buy ? ( i am not thinking to buy woofer again , just the speakers would cater my needs )
The speakers r for a normal desktop computer . I do play movies n songs quite often .
Any suggestions as of which company speakers would be good ?
Ive come to a conclusion if i want to watch movies i will have to use 5.1 speakers and if I jus want to hear :some music in my pc I sould go for the2.1.
2.1 is cheaper but still confusing which one to go for![]()
Unless the 5.1 speakers are properly placed, you will not get the effect.
Usually, a computer (desktop) is located at the corner of a room. The Front Left/Center/Right are placed close together around the monitor. But where are Rear Surround Left/Right placed, that is the question.
If the Rear Surround Left/Right are also placed in front then sound is distorted. If they are placed way behind on the rear wall, they are too far away to yield the pleasure of surround sound. I hope you get the gist.
Here is the ideal placement.

will sound card provide a 5 channel output.?
I'm having two 2.1 speaker systems ........ now i want to use both of them while watching movies ..........
but i'm not able to do so ....... this is because as soon as i connect the second set of 2.1 speaker system at the front end it doesn't work .the sound only comes out of the first set which i have already plugged at the back end.
And yeah forgot to mention it's a DELL inspiron 530 desktop with Foxconn G33M02 motherboard having realtek HD audio sound driver. i tried my hands on the realtek HD audio manager but couldn't find the way out.
so could somebody please help me in this regard.
thnxx in advance .
i dont think you can do that bro......
Check your settings. Mine has an option where it automatically switches off the rear panel when anything in front is plugged in.
mine to has this option although ...............
but there is another option as well under the sound manager heading which makes both the speakers work but the drawback is that one works as a default one and the other is referred to as a communication module and thus works moreover like a headphone only when other application like voice call require it . otherwise it remains mute and only the default one works for that while .although i can switch between rear and front end speakers by changing the default one and making the other set as communication ones' .
can i have some other senior members help on the above mentioned issue ............
anyways thnxx in advance .
As I do not have a 5.1 speaker system for the desktop, I am unable to help further. Sorry.![]()
My guess is that you will have some tweaking to do with the settings of the sound card.
guys it is so simple to play 5.1 channel speakers.
If your 5.1 channel speakers AUX wire then put it into the CPU green port.
if you do not have AUX then to have to buy soundcard or amp

Buddy, the issue is to connect 2 sets of 2.1 speakers on the same system.
