Rep Power: 1 | ok hey guys new to the forum just wanted to ask a few question after long thinking ive come to the conclusion of buying a 9800gt or gts 250 graphic card but since i live in india i dont have alot of choices therefore very limited and newegg or amazon dont ship here anyway my question are as follows if possible please answer me question wise 1. Is it worth getting a GTS 250 over a 9800gt because i will not play above 1440x900 resolution as i have a 19 inch 2.i have a HP A6450IN ok now i just wanted to know if the gts 250 or the 9800gt will fit in my case as both cards are approximately 9 inches or 23 cm as it says the motherboard is 9.6 inches so does that mean it will fit ?? 3. just wanted to know if i have to install the gts 250 which is a dual slot as seen from my motherboard picture will this cause any problem as i dont have anything occupying the pci slot or the express x 1 so is there any problem installing the gts 250 4. IF I Game on a 37 inch full hdtv will a 1 gb of either the 9800gt ot the gts 250 come in handy 5.now i know the various modes of connecting a card to the tv but for example is it worth getting a hdmi cable over a vga cable for gaming on my big screen?? |

| See, it depends a lot on what u alrdy have.Plz tell the following: 1)Ur CPU model number 2)The amount and speed of ur RAM 3)The Types of games u like 4)The wattage of ur PSU, its brand and how many 6Pin PCIe connectors ur PSU got. For gaming at full HD res(1920x1080), yes 1GB will be better than 512MB. Its better to got for HDMI rather than a vga. The card will fit, just check that things like ram slots dont come in the way.Its got nothing to do with motherboard size. Also, i would strongly suggest u look at an ATI4850 also. see this also :| http://www.indiabroadband.net/comput...50-9800gt.html (Gts 250 or 9800gt) Last edited by rajan1311; 07-28-09 at 04:48 PM. Rep Power: 1 | ok the following are my answers 1. E4600 CORE 2 DUO AT 2.4 GHZ 2. 2 GB DDR2 @ 400MHZ 3. DEMANDING GAMES LIKE CRYSIS AND FARCRY AND GTAIV 4. Well my present psu sucks but ive done my homework and have concluded to buy a 450 w corsair it has 1 pci-e but the gts 250 has 2 but also come with 2 molex 2 1 pci so im sure of it and since you suggest the 4850 ive read it runs hot and also is not as powerful as the GTS 250 if not the a GTS 250 I WILL CHOOSE A HD 4770 |

| gr8 that u did ur homework See, GTS250(bcos of 2 6pin PCIe connectors) is out of question now. If u put a GTS250 or a ATI HD4770 on ur system, u will get similar performance.[A GTS250 is at best(on benchmarking systems) 10-15% faster than a ATI4770]. This is bcos ur processor and memory may slow it down a bit. Did u mean DDR2 400Mhz memory or DDR2 800MHz (cos DDR2 800MHz memory runs at 400MHz). So, if u can, get an ATI4770, else an 9800GT. U can play crysis on med, Far Cry 2 on very high/high and GTA 4 on med. Also, for GTA4 u need a good quad and lots of video memory to run it well. get a 1GB 9800GT if u go for a 9800GT. |

Rep Power: 1 | well on CPU-Z it says my memory clock is 400mHz so it must be a 800mHz . ok now u said i cannot use a GTS 250 as i don not have 2xPci-E connectors but you do get that molex to pci-e connector right why cant i use that?? And also on YouTube is see many videos with my configuration with a 9800GT runnig Crysis Maxed out how come that to on higher resloution i will be gaming max on 1440X900 SO i dont get why my system will be a limiting factor for Crysis thnx |

| u mean u can use a 2x4pin to a 6 pin converter, yes u can, but i would not do that........ I have an ATI4850 4GB of DDR2 800MHz RAM and had my processor at 3.6GHz, i could play crysis warhead at gamer setting and crysis at med high. Since there is a pretty big price difference between GTS250 and the ATI4770(about Rs2500 ?), i would say that u go for a 4770 instead of a GTS250. U most prolly will not notice much difference(gameplay wise). Pld do tell us what u finally got and how is it working. also, an ATI 4850 does run hot, but u can change the fan speed on catalyst control(software provided) to about 50% and the temps are good. Rep Power: 1 | You might want to check out the HD 4850 if you are open for a stand alone card. Even better the HD 4870 for unmatched power. |
