@ vickyinstru2000:

if you can afford it go for a 1GB card. i am suggesting this because of your monitor size. I am also on a similar config, I have a GTS 250 1GB card, worth every penny I had spent on it.

Even though Radeon chip based card are slightly better than their equivalent NVidia counterparts, I am somewhat perplexed as to why the Radeon based cards are stingy in providing HDMI-out.

they provide an dvi to hdmi adapter with the card. If you use that, you also get audio from the 7.1ch chip on the graphics card. But, in case of most nvidia cards, you have to plug in the onboard audio to your graphics card to get the audio via hdmi. So, which 1 is better ?

I was not aware that they provided the converter in the package.

But still it would be better to have a direct HDMI port on the card itself. I mean what is big hassle?

(p/s. I am not getting into the "which one is better?" router. )

By that i meant which process do you prefer. Put the DVI to HDMI adapter or plug the onboard audio onto the card ?

Obviously, I would prefer not to spend on extra sound card.

Both require external power. An 4850 requires 1 6pin PCIe connector and 9800GTX+ needs 2 6pin PCIe connector. I would strongly recommend that you get a new psu as 300W will not be sufficient.

I have an iball stock 500W PSU and it works fine. Yes it will need a power connector, you know the one with a white socket and multicoloured wires.

Even if i get a new PSU of 500W how much extra would it cost me and about the 6 pin pci-e connector do we have to but it seperately or it comes with the GC itself??

for a 4670 your do not need a 6pin PSU. i think 300W should be fine.

Hi, I'm thinking of buying a new PC, and while I'm not a hardcore gamer, I'd like to know what card would play these games:

This one has been released:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wolfens...009_video_game)

These will be released next year:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Aliens_...or_(video_game)
Aliens: Colonial Marines - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Wolfenstein page already mentions two cards. Now how much would be the minimum money I would have to shell out for a card to run these games?
