its simple, just login into ubuntu (live)

and delete the autorun.inf file from u r pendrive.

    OR

    if u can access u r pendrive

open command prompt, locate to u r pendrive, and type, attrib -r -h -s autorun.inf, and quickly open u r pendrive and delete the autorun.inf file

There must be some virus present in your system, which replaces the file after deletion. Do a full system scan. To delete the present file, try using any Live OS CD. There are many software that can delete undeletable files. Check in download.com.

    get into DOS mode.
select the USB drive from command line.
use DOS command attrib -r -h -s *.inf
use DOS command erase *.inf to delete the file
    remove USB drive
    go back to windows mode
    full scan system
you may find a few viruses.
after cleaning system format your drive.

Is this a fullproof method?? or the next time we transfer data to the pendrive same problem will arise?

the problem would return only when you use the pen drive again in an infected system.

Run a full system scan with updated antivirus. Please share the antivirus you use. Avira or Avast will be nice. Also try CA Yahoo Antispy.

I have done this to all my drives, but I don't know whether it actually works...

Just after you format your drive, be it HDD, Pen, Floppy or any such thing, create a folder named autorun.inf and set it to system, read only and hidden. This will save you from lame viruses.

I don't think it is fullproof, at some point it is going to become full
if you keep adding stuff into it.
